The TIGER/Line Files are shapefiles and related database files (.dbf) that are an extract of selected geographic and cartographic information from the U.S. Census Bureau's Master Address File / Topologically Integrated Geographic Encoding and Referencing (MAF/TIGER) Database (MTDB). The purpose of this file is to provide the geography for the 2010 Census Blocks along with their 2010 housing unit count and population. Census Blocks are statistical areas bounded on all sides by visible features, such as streets, roads, streams, and railroad tracks, and/or by nonvisible boundaries such as city, town, township, and county limits, and short line-of-sight extensions of streets and roads. Blocks are the smallest geographic areas for which the Census Bureau publishes data from the decennial census. A block may consist of one or more faces.

CoastWatch is a nationwide National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) program within which the Great Lakes Environmental Research Laboratory (GLERL) functions as the Great Lakes regional node. In this capacity, GLERL obtains, develops, and delivers environmental data and products for near real-time observation of the Great Lakes to support environmental science, decision making, and supporting research since 1990. This is achieved by providing Internet access to near real-time and retrospective satellite observations, derived products, modeled, and in-situ Great Lakes data. The goals and objectives of the CoastWatch Great Lakes Program directly support NOAA's statutory responsibilities in estuarine and marine science living marine resource protection, and ecosystem monitoring and management. The CoastWatch node at the NOAA/Great Lakes Environmental Research Laboratory (GLERL) is receiving a product suite of enhanced digital images including satellite-derived surface water temperature (SST), visible and near-infrared reflectance, brightness temperatures, cloud masks, satellite/solar zenith angle data and graphics from the NOAA/AVHRR (Advanced Very High Resolution Radiometer), MetOp A and B, and NPP VIIRS (National Polar-orbiting Partnership (Suomi) Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite) series of satellites in HDF format. These near real-time CoastWatch data are acquired by GLERL from NOAA's National Environmental Satellite, Data, and Information Service (NESDIS) on a daily schedule via Internet. The daytime and nighttime raster images are 1024 x 1024 in size having a nominal resolution of 1.3 km. The VIIRS “high resolution” data has a nominal resolution of 0.8 km and raster size of 1631 x 1631). The near real-time satellite data and derived products (as well as the 512 x 512, 2.6 km resolution data received prior to 2004 in CWF format) are available from the CoastWatch Great Lakes website (http://coastwatch.glerl.noaa.gov). The data is also available from the NOAA CoastWatch Comprehensive Large Array-data Stewardship System (CLASS), an electronic library of NOAA environmental data. The AVHRR/MetOp SST data are cloud-masked and land-masked and used to create the GLSEA (Great Lakes Surface Environmental Analysis), a daily, cloud-free composite SST image with NIC ice concentration overlay during winter months (.png, .ascii, KML formats), cloud-masked and land-masked SST images in Geotif format, and 512 x 512 subsets by lake in .png format. In addition, GOES (Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellites) visible, near infrared, water vapor, and SST images of the Great Lakes are received from NESDIS and MODIS true color 250m resolution imagery of each Great Lake (and synoptic scene) (received near real-time from the Space Science and Engineering Center at the University of Wisconsin), in-situ and modeled data, including marine and meteorological observations, buoy observations, water level gauge measurements from NOAA's National Ocean Service, are routinely acquired or produced, stored, and made available to Great Lakes CoastWatch data users. Great Lakes Forecasting system (nowcast and forecast) products are also available to CoastWatch data users via the Great Lakes CoastWatch website (http://coastwatch.glerl.noaa.gov).

The POS file consists of two data files, one for CLIA labs and one for 18 other provider types. The file names are CLIA and OTHER. If downloading the file, note it is fairly large (125MB in CSV). The POS Extract is created from the QIES (Quality Improvement Evaluation System) database. These data include provider number, name, and address and characterize the participating institutional providers. The data are collected through the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Regional Offices. The file contains an individual record for each Medicare-approved provider and is updated quarterly. The specifications for the horizontal control of DFIRM data files are consistent with those required for mapping at a scale of 1:12,000. Coastal study data as defined in FEMA Gudelines and Specifications, Appendix D: Guidance for Coastal Flooding Analyses and Mapping, submitted as a result of a coastal study. Appendix D notes that a variety of analytical methodologies may be used to establish Base (1-percent-annual-chance) Flood Elevations (BFEs) and floodplains throughout coastal areas of the United States. Appendix D itemizes references for the methodologies currently in use by FEMA for specific coastal flood hazards, provides general guidance for documentation of a coastal flood hazard analysis, specifies flood hazard analysis procedures for the Great Lakes coasts, and outlines intermediate data submissions for coastal flood hazard analyses with new storm surge modeling and revised stillwater flood level (SWFL). OPS Master is a management tool and database for integrated financial planning and portfolio management in USAID Missions. Using OPS Master, the three principal mission financial planning reports, the budget, the pipeline report, and the procurement plan, are produced from the same data and present a seamless and consistent picture of the portfolio. Two components of the current version of OPS Master are the OPS Master Tool and Integrated Financial Planning (IFP). IFP is a formal standardized Mission business process that provides information about implementation progress, funding plans, pipelines, and procurement plans for all Mission-managed resources. This information is used in quarterly financial review meetings. This Climate Data Record (CDR) includes lower tropospheric, mid-tropospheric, and lower stratospheric temperatures over land and ocean derived from microwave radiometers on NOAA and NASA polar orbiting satellites. The temperatures are from measurements produced by Microwave Sounding Units (MSU) since 1978 and Advanced Microwave Sounding Unit-A (AMSU-A) since 1998 flying on NOAA polar orbiting satellites, on NASA Aqua satellite (operating since mid-1998) and on the European MetOp satellite (operating since late 2006). The instruments are cross-track through-nadir scanning externally-calibrated passive microwave radiometers. Brightness temperature measurements are derived at microwave frequencies within the 50-60 GHz oxygen absorption complex, and (in the case of AMSU-A) at a few microwave frequencies above and below that absorption complex. There are three atmospheric layers for which intermediate products are processed: (1) lower-tropospheric (TLT) deep-layer average temperature, computed as a weighted difference between view angles of AMSU-A channel 5, whose heritage comes from MSU channel 2, (2) mid-tropospheric (TMT) deep-layer temperature, computed as an average of the central portion of the scan of AMSU-A channel 5, whose heritage also comes from MSU channel 2, and (3) lower-stratospheric (TLS) deep layer temperatures, computed from the central portion of the scan of AMSU channel 9, whose heritage comes from MSU channel 4. This CDR includes several products. The global monthly anomaly data data are averaged onto a 2.5 x 2.5 degree latitude-longitude grid for each of the three atmospheric layers. Monthly anomalies are averaged for each of the three atmospheric layers over multiple regions, including Global, hemispheric, tropic, extratropic, polar and contiguous U.S. A mean annual cycle of monthly mean layer temperatures is also included. Anomalies are deviations from 1981-2010 mean. The datasets have been converted from the native ASCII format to CF-compliant netCDF-4 format.

This map layer contains elevation data for the conterminous United States, in an Albers Equal-Area Conic projection. The elevation data were derived from National Elevation Dataset (NED) data, , and show the terrain at a resolution of 100 meters. Data presented here are subset of a larger plankton imagery data set collected in the subtropical Straits of Florida from 2014-05-28 to 2014-06-14. Imagery data were collected using the In Situ Ichthyoplankton Imaging System (ISIIS-2) as part of a NSF-funded project to assess the biophysical drivers affecting fine-scale interactions between larval fish, their prey, and predators. This subset of images was used in the inaugural National Data Science Bowl (www.datasciencebowl.com) hosted by Kaggle and sponsored by Booz Allen Hamilton. Data were originally collected to examine the biophysical drivers affecting fine¬scale (spatial) interactions between larval fish, their prey, and predators in a subtropical pelagic marine ecosystem. Image segments extracted from the raw data were sorted into 121 plankton classes, split 50:50 into train and test data sets, and provided for a machine learning competition (the National Data Science Bowl). There was no hierarchical relationships explicit in the 121 plankton classes, though the class naming convention and a tree-like diagram (see file "Plankton Relationships.pdf") indicated relationships between classes, whether it was taxonomic or structural (size and shape). We intend for this dataset to be available to the machine learning and computer vision community as a standard machine learning benchmark. This “Plankton 1.0” dataset is a medium-size dataset with a fair amount of complexity where image classification improvements can still be made.
