The South New Jersey County Lidar Project is to provide LiDAR data for the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJ-DEP) for Cape May, Cumberland, and part of Salem Counties in New Jersey. These datasets will be the initial acquisition to support the United States Geological Survey (USGS) and the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJ-DEP). This LiDAR data set was collected in April 2008 for the bay side of Salem County and covers 76 square miles. The data are classified as follows: Class 1 - Unclassified/Extracted Features Class 2 - Bare Earth, Ground Class 9 - Water Class 12 - Overlap

Twelve quadrats were sampled along 2 consecutively-placed, 25m transect lines, as part of Rapid Ecological Assessments, conducted at 9 sites at Midway in the NW Hawaiian Islands from 1 September - 4 October 2006, aboard the NOAA ship Hi'ialakai, during the Reef Assessment and Monitoring Program (RAMP) Cruise HI0611. Raw survey data included genus presence and relative abundance, and voucher specimens. Detailed taxonomic analyses of voucher specimens are presented.

CRED shallow Conductivity-Temperature-Depth (CTD) casts are vertical profiles (max 30 meter depth, downcast only) of temperature, conductivity and pressure. Data are collected at select nearshore locations, both around islands or banks and within lagoons. Data processing was performed using Seabird Instrument's SeaSoft SBE Data Processing Software (http://www.seabird.com/software/SBEDataProcforWindows.htm). Data format is discreet, tabular (formatted, space delimited ASCII) files for each profile, with a full header as provided by SeaSoft. Raw file extension is HEX, processed file extension is CNV. The header contains latitude, longitude and other location information, as well as all data processing steps and settings. All dates and times are UTC. All positions are WGS84 decimal degrees. Popis

Chemical, physical, profile, imagery, laboratory analysis, sediment analysis and underway oceanographic data were collected aboard the Pisces in the Gulf of Mexico from 2010-09-25 to 2010-10-03 in response to the Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill event on April 20, 2010, by the Subsurface Monitoring Unit (SMU), which consisted of multiple government and corporate agencies. These data include CDOM fluorescence, conductivity, dissolved oxygen, fluorescence, hydrostatic pressure, salinity, sediment properties, sound velocity, temperature, turbidity and water density. The instruments used to collect these data included CTD, camera, fluorometer, oxygen meter and sediment sampler - corer along with other physical sampling devices. More specific information about each data set is located in their individual metadata records. Sediment cores were analyzed for physical characteristics, and recorded in photos and data files. The CTD data underwent preliminary quality assurance and control procedures at the National Coastal Data Development Center (NCDDC). This data set also contains products created for use in real time analysis and decision support. These products may include charts, graphs, maps, plots, and GIS formatted data files. Cruise level information consisting of data management documents, cruise reports and plans, videos and pictures, and other miscellaneous documentation were gathered by the data managers. Physical factors, such as the slope of the land, the texture of the soil, and the precipitation regime influence erosion in an area. Parts of Puerto Rico are very steep and erosion-prone. In addition, the nature of the soil and intense rainfall events promote severe erosion in these areas. Erosion can be extreme in exposed areas (cleared for a road or residential construction, or where soil is exposed due to cropping patterns or agricultural cycle.)

Popis

Oceanographic station data were collected from the KLAMATH within a 1-mile radius of Ocean Weather Station N (3000N 14000W) and in transit. Data were collected by the United States Coast Guard (USCG) from 09 August 1970 to 01 September 1970. Data were processed by NODC to the NODC standard Station Data II Output Format (SD2). Full format description is available from NODC at www.nodc.noaa.gov/General/NODC-Archive/sd2.html. The SD2 format contains physical-chemical oceanographic data recorded at discrete depth levels. Most of the observations were made using multi-bottle Nansen casts or other types of water samplers. A small amount (about 5 percent) were obtained using electronic CTD (conductivity-temperature-depth) or STD (salinity-temperature-depth) recorders. The CTD/STD data were reported to NODC at depth levels equivalent to Nansen cast data, however, and have been processed and stored the same as the Nansen data. Cruise information (e.g., ship, country, institution), position, date, and time, and reported for each station. The principal measured parameters and temperature and salinity , but dissolved oxygen, phosphate, total phosphorus, silicate, nitrate, nitrite, and pH may be reported. Meteorological conditions at the time of the cast (e.g., air temperature and pressure, wind, waves) may also be reported, as well as auxiliary data such as water color (Forel-Ule scale), water transparency (Secchi disk depth), and depth to bottom. Values of density (sigma-t) sound velocity, and dynamic depth anomaly are computed from measured parameters. Each station contains the measurements taken at the observed depth levels, but also includes data values interpolated to a set of standard depth levels.

NODC Accession 0108086 includes chemical, discrete sample, physical and profile data collected from ANTEA in the Gulf of Guinea, North Atlantic Ocean and South Atlantic Ocean from 2005-06-09 to 2005-07-03 and retrieved during cruise 35A820050609. These data include ALKALINITY, DISSOLVED INORGANIC CARBON, SALINITY and SEA SURFACE TEMPERATURE. The instruments used to collect these data include Alkalinity titrator, CTD, Potentiometric titrator for dissolved inorganic carbon (DIC) measurement and bottle. These data were collected by Nathalie Lefevre of Universite Pierre et Marie Curie; Institut Pierre Simon Laplace; Laboratoire D'Oceanographie et du Climat: Experimentations et Approches Numeriques as part of the EGEE-1_Line data set. The International CLIVAR Global Ocean Carbon and Repeat Hydrography Program carries out a systematic and global re-occupation of select WOCE/JGOFS hydrographic sections to quantify changes in storage and transport of heat, fresh water, carbon dioxide (CO2), and related parameters.

This georeferenced image represents unified 20 meter bathymetry of selected portions of seafloor around St. Croix, St. Thomas, and St. John in the US Virgin Islands, derived from data collected in 2004 and 2005.NOAA's NOS/NCCOS/CCMA Biogeography Team, in collaboration with NOAA vessel Nancy Foster and territory, federal, and private sector partners, acquired multibeam bathymetry data in the US Virgin Islands from 2/18/04 to 3/5/04 and 2/1/05 to 2/12/05. Data was acquired with a pole-mounted Reson 8101 ER multibeam echosounder (240 kHz) and processed by a NOAA contractor using CARIS HIPS v5.4 software. Data has all correctors applied (attitude, sound velocity) and has been reduced to mean lower low water (MLLW) using final approved tides and zoning from NOAA COOPS. Data is in UTM zone 20 north, datum NAD83. The processed CARIS data was used to generate a CARIS BASE surface -akin to a DTM- based on swath angle. Within CARIS, an imagery file with associated georeferencing was then exported from the BASE surface.The projects were conducted to meet IHO Order 1 and 2 accuracy standards, dependant on the project area and depth. All users should individually evaluate the suitability of this data according to their own needs and standards.

NOAA CoastWatch provides sea surface temperature (SST) products derived from NOAA's Polar Operational Environmental Satellites (POES). This data is provided at high resolution (0.01 degrees) for the North Pacific Ocean. This Small Business Innovation Research Phase I proposal to NASA requests $69,367.13 support for Policell Technologies, Inc. to demonstrate the feasibility of developing a novel battery separator membrane having a selectable thermal shut-down temperature (from 60 to 120 deg C). The separator will be used for making high energy density rechargeable battery. This proposal responds to Topic Number F3.09, ?Power Technologies for Human Missions?. The significance of the innovations is that with the use of the novel separator membrane, the resulting rechargeable lithium-ion battery will:1) have a selectable thermal shut-down temperature to meet the requirements for any particular application. Therefore, the battery will have an improved safety and reliability,2) offer higher energy density, 3) have longer cycle life, lower as well as stable impedance during charge-discharge cycling and 4) offer low cost since the separator could eliminate the use of such safety device as PTC and circuitry for lithium-ion battery. The innovation in the separator will be to develop a separator system which has a selectable thermal shut-down temperature. The commercial applications include: used for rechargeable battery as mobile power sources for such devices as cellular phones, notebook computers, military used devices, and hybrid electric vehicles (HEV). The NASA applications include: mobile power sources for space. The Principal Investigator, Luying Sun, Ph.D., is qualified to perform this work as he has been an expert in this field. Since 1993, the Principal Investigator has been involved in the research and development of separator membrane, electrolyte, and lithium-ion battery.

The Pacific Islands Fisheries Science Center, part of the National Marine Fisheries Service, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), conducted cruises in the Northwest Hawaiian Islands and Guam on the R/V Hi'ialakai, Townsend Cromwell, and Oscar Elton Sette during 1999-2006. 14 select cruises are included in this batch. Finalized data include the profiles of temperature, salinity, oxygen saturation, and fluorescence. Most hydrocast stations are near atolls and islands. These are referred to as deep profiles and mostly reach to 500 m.
