The Elementary School Arts Education Survey, 2009 is a study that is part of the Quick Response Information System. FRSS 100 (http://nces.ed.gov/surveys/frss/) is a sample survey that provides national estimates on student access to arts education and resources available for such instruction in public elementary schools during fall 2009. The study was conducted using mailed questionnaires that could be completed via web or by mail. Follow-up telephone interviews were also conducted. Principals of elementary schools were sampled. The study's response rate was 85 percent. Key statistics produced from FRSS 100 are availability and characteristics of music, visual arts, dance, and drama/theatre instruction; the type of space used for arts instruction; the availability of curriculum guides for arts teachers to follow; and whether those teaching the subject are arts specialists.

The Wakasa Bay Field Campaign was conducted in January and February 2003 to validate rainfall algorithms developed for the Advanced Microwave Scanning Radiometer - Earth Observing System (AMSR-E). The primary objective was to validate both AMSR and AMSR-E shallow rainfall and snowfall retrievals. An Airborne Multichannel Microwave Radiometer (AMMR) aboard a NASA P-3 Orion collected 37 GHz and 21 GHz brightness temperatures (TBs) and air temperatures on 14 January, 19 January, 21 January, and 03 February 2003. All measurements fall within 30.6763 deg N to 41.476 deg N, 134.0313 deg E to 150.3528 deg E. Data are in tab-delimited ASCII text format and are available via FTP.

The Biomonitoring of Environmental Status and Trends (BEST) program is designed to assess and monitor the effects of environmental contaminants on biological resources, particularly those under the stewardship of the Department of the Interior. BEST examines contaminant issues at national, regional, and local scales, and uses field monitoring techniques and information assessment tools tailored to each scale. As part of this program, the threat of contaminants and other anthropogenic activities to terrestrial vertebrates residing in or near to Atlantic coast estuarine ecosystems is being evaluated by data synthesis and field activities. One of the objectives of this project is to evaluate the relative sensitivity and suitability of various wildlife species for regional contaminant monitoring of estuaries and ecological risk assessment.

The Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) is the codification of the general and permanent rules published in the Federal Register by the executive departments and agencies of the Federal Government. It is divided into 50 titles that represent broad areas subject to Federal regulation. Each print volume of the CFR is updated once each calendar year, and is issued on a quarterly basis. Bulk data downloads of Code of Federal Regulations files in XML format are available from 2000 to the present, by year, title, and volume. The current XML data set is not yet an official format of the Code of Federal Regulations. Only the PDF and Text versions have legal status as parts of the official online format of the Code of Federal Regulations. The XML-structured files are derived from SGML-tagged data and printing codes, which may produce anomalies in display. In addition, the XML data does not yet include image files. Users who require a higher level of assurance may wish to consult the official version of the Code of Federal Reulations on FDsys.gov. The FDsys data set includes digitally signed Code of Federal Regulations PDF files, which may be relied upon as evidence in a court of law. TIGER/Line Shapefile, 2013, Series Information File for the Current Secondary School Districts Shapefile State-based Shapefile
Published By US Census Bureau, Department of Commerce
Issued over 9 years ago
Summary
Description
The TIGER/Line shapefiles and related database files (.dbf) are an extract of selected geographic and cartographic information from the U.S. Census Bureau's Master Address File / Topologically Integrated Geographic Encoding and Referencing (MAF/TIGER) Database (MTDB). The MTDB represents a seamless national file with no overlaps or gaps between parts, however, each TIGER/Line shapefile is designed to stand alone as an independent data set, or they can be combined to cover the entire nation. School Districts are single-purpose administrative units within which local officials provide public educational services for the area's residents. The Census Bureau obtains the boundaries, names, local education agency codes, grade ranges, and school district levels for school districts from State officials for the primary purpose of providing the U.S. Department of Education with estimates of the number of children in poverty within each school district. This information serves as the basis for the Department of Education to determine the annual allocation of Title I funding to States and school districts. TIGER/Line Shapefiles include separate shapefiles for elementary, secondary and unified school districts. The school district boundaries are those in effect for the 2011-2012 school year.

Digital map of the saturated thickness of the High Plains aquifer in parts of Kansas, Nebraska, New Mexico, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Texas and Wyoming, 1996-97
Published By U.S. Geological Survey, Department of the Interior
Issued over 9 years ago
Summary
Description
This digital data set consists of saturated thickness contours for the High Plains aquifer in Central United States, 1996-97. The High Plains aquifer extends from south of 32 degrees to almost 44 degrees north latitude and from 96 degrees 30 minutes to 104 degrees west longitude. The aquifer underlies about 174,000 square miles in parts of Colorado, Kansas, Nebraska, New Mexico, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Texas, and Wyoming. This data set was based on 10,085 water-level measurements, 49 stream elevations, (March 1997) and 10,036 water-level elevations from wells (1,370 from 1996 and 8,666 from 1997) and the base of aquifer value for each measurement location. The saturated thickness at each measurement location was determined by subtracting the water-level elevation from the base of aquifer at that location.

As a complement to the CDAWeb data service, we also provide the publicly-released subset of the underlying database directly accessible as an anonymous FTP service (accessible at ftp://cdaweb.gsfc.nasa.gov). All data available from the FTP service are also available from CDAWeb itself; the major advantage of the FTP service is support for functions like mget.
