The purpose of the TSA Staffing Model is for the migration of workforce planning, analysis, and reporting system. The system creates airport staff modeling and workforce demands requirements. A resource modeling application used to analyze flight data and maximize resource allocation at airport checkpoints. TSA Staffing Model contains data about Workforce planning, employee and person information, and scheduling information. The data is collected from the Master Flight schedule and baseline data about airports (terminals, concourse, etc.). The data is then modified through an experiment and analyzed to determine the appropriate resources needed for various scenarios.

The Poverty and Food Security Case Studies dataset consists of small area estimates of poverty, inequality, food security and related measures for subnational administrative units in Mexico, Ecuador, Kenya, Malawi, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nigeria and Vietnam. These data come from country level cases studies that examine poverty and food security from a spatial analysis perspective. The data products include shapefiles (vector data) and tabular datasets (csv format). Additionally, a data catalog (xls format) containing detailed information and documentation is provided. This dataset is produced by the Columbia University Center for International Earth Science Information Network (CIESIN) and the Centro Internacional de Agricultura Tropical (CIAT). The dataset was originally produced by CIAT, International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center (CIMMYT), International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI), International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI), International Rice Research Institute (IRRI), International Water Management Institute (IWMI), and International Institute for Tropical Agriculture (IITA).

The Office of Coast Survey (OCS) has been involved in the development of a NOAA Electronic Navigational Chart (NOAA ENC) suite to support the marine transportation infrastructure and coastal management for a number of years. The NOAA ENC will support all types of marine navigation by providing the official database for electronic charting systems (ECS), including the Electronic Chart Display and Information System (ECDIS). NOAA ENCs support real-time navigation as well as collision and grounding avoidance needs of the mariner, and accommodate a real-time tide and current display capability that is essential for large vessel navigation. NOAA ENCs will also provide fully integrated vector base maps for use in geographic information systems (GIS) that are used for coastal management or other purposes. The NOAA ENCs are in the International Hydrographic Office (IHO) S-57 international exchange format and comply with the ENC Product Specification.

Description
Sandy ocean beaches are a popular recreational destination, often surrounded by communities containing valuable real estate. Development is on the rise despite the fact that coastal infrastructure is subjected to flooding and erosion. As a result, there is an increased demand for accurate information regarding past and present shoreline changes. To meet these national needs, the Coastal and Marine Geology Program of the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) is compiling existing reliable historical shoreline data along open-ocean sandy shores of the conterminous United States and parts of Alaska and Hawaii under the National Assessment of Shoreline Change project. There is no widely accepted standard for analyzing shoreline change. Existing shoreline data measurements and rate calculation methods vary from study to study and prevent combining results into state-wide or regional assessments. The impetus behind the National Assessment project was to develop a standardized method of measuring changes in shoreline position that is consistent from coast to coast. The goal was to facilitate the process of periodically and systematically updating the results in an internally consistent manner.

State-level data on all energy sources. Data include production, consumption, reserves, stocks, prices, imports, and exports. Data are collated from state-specific data reported elsewhere on the EIA website and are the most recent values available. The system provides data back from 1960. While some SEDS data series come directly from surveys conducted by EIA, many are estimated using other available information. These estimations are necessary for the compilation of "total energy" estimates. Users of the EIA API are required to obtain an API Key via this registration form: http://www.eia.gov/beta/api/register.cfm

The ENSO Diagnostics Discussion (EDD) is issued by NOAA Climate Prediction Center each month on the Thursday between the 5th and 11th with few exceptions (major holiday). The discussion provides information on the current and future status of ENSO, describes the current oceanic and atmospheric conditions in the Pacific, and gives information on related climate impacts over the United States and other regions. More specifically, the discussion includes analyses of surface and subsurface ocean temperatures, rainfall, outgoing longwave radiation, and low-level and upper-level winds over the equatorial Pacific Ocean. Along with current observations, predictions from statistical and dynamical models are also provided. The EDD is provided in HTML, PDF, and Microsoft Word document formats, and a Spanish version is provided along with an English version. The EDD is designed for use by scientists, decision makers, and for members of the general public.

The Air Markets Program Data tool allows users to search EPA data to answer scientific, general, policy, and regulatory questions about industry emissions. Air Markets Program Data (AMPD) is a web-based application that allows users easy access to both current and historical data collected as part of EPA's emissions trading programs. This site allows you to create and view reports and to download emissions data for further analysis. AMPD provides a query tool so users can create custom queries of industry source emissions data, allowance data, compliance data, and facility attributes. In addition, AMPD provides interactive maps, charts, reports, and pre-packaged datasets. AMPD does not require any additional software, plug-ins, or security controls and can be accessed using a standard web browser.

<p>Corrosion is an extensive problem that impacts National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and&nbsp;Department of Defense (DoD).&nbsp; The deleterious effects of corrosion result in steep costs, asset down-time affecting mission readiness, and safety risks to personnel.&nbsp; Consequently, it is vital to reduce corrosion costs and risks in a sustainable manner.</p><p>NASA and DoD&nbsp;have numerous structures and equipment that are fabricated from stainless steel.&nbsp; The standard practice for protection of stainless steel is a process called passivation which removes free iron contamination from the surface and forms a&nbsp;metal oxide layer to prevent corrosion.&nbsp; Typical passivation procedures call for the use of nitric acid which exhibits excellent corrosion performance; however, there are a number of environmental, worker safety, and operational issues associated with its use.</p><p>The longtime military specification (QQ-P-35C) for the passivation of stainless steel was cancelled in favor of newer specifications which allow for the use of citric acid in place of nitric acid.&nbsp; Citric acid offers a variety of benefits that include increased safety for personnel, reduced environmental impact, and reduced operational cost.&nbsp; There have been few studies, however, to determine whether citric acid is an acceptable alternative for NASA and DoD applications; therefore, NASA and DoD&nbsp;agreed to collaborate on an effort to validate citric acid as an acceptable passivating agent for stainless steel.&nbsp;</p>
