This data set contains the Limit of "8(g) Zone" boundary in ESRI shapefile format for the BOEM Alaska Region. The "8(g) Zone" lies between the Submerged Lands Act (SLA) boundary and a line projected 3 nautical miles seaward of the SLA boundary line. Within this zone, revenues are shared with the coastal state(s). Because GIS projection and topology functions can change or generalize coordinates, these GIS files are considered to be approximate and are NOT an OFFICIAL record for the exact SLA boundary. The Official Protraction Diagrams (OPDs) and Supplemental Official OCS Block Diagrams (SOBDs) serve as the legal definition for offshore boundary coordinates and area descriptions.

The Drug Abuse Warning Network (DAWN) is a nationally representative public health surveillance system that continuously monitors drug-related visits to hospital emergency departments (EDs). A DAWN case is any ED visit involving recent drug use that is implicated in the ED visit. DAWN captures both ED visits that are directly caused by drugs and those in which drugs are a contributing factor but not the direct cause of the ED visit. Annually, DAWN produces estimates of drug-related visits to hospital EDs for the nation as a whole and for selected metropolitan areas. DAWN is used to monitor trends in drug misuse and abuse, identify the emergence of new substances and drug combinations, assess health hazards associated with drug abuse, and estimate the impact of drug misuse and abuse on the Nation's health care system. DAWN relies on a longitudinal probability sample of hospitals located throughout the United States. To be eligible for selection into the DAWN sample, a hospital must be a non-federal, short-stay, general surgical and medical hospital located in the United States, with at least one 24-hour ED. The dataset includes demographics, up to 16 drugs involved in the ED visit, toxicology confirmation, route of administration, type of case, and disposition of the patient following the visit.

NPEFS 2010-11 is a study that is part of the Common Core of Datas National Public Education Financial Survey program; program data is available since 1987 at . CCD-NPEFS 2010-11 (http://nces.ed.gov/ccd/stfis.asp) is a cross-sectional survey that collected information about revenues and expenditures for public elementary and secondary education. The information is drawn from the state education agencies administrative records systems; no additional data are collected from schools or districts. NPEFS data are used in calculating states Title I grants. The study was conducted using responding agencies' existing administrative records. The universe of state education agencies was sampled. The study's response rate has not been calculated as of May 2013. Key statistics produced from CCD-NPEFS 2010-11 are on revenues by source and expenditures by function and object. Average daily attendance is also collected on the NPEFS.

The USGS Contours service from The National Map (TNM) consists of contours generated for the conterminous United States from the 1 arc-second National Elevation Dataset (NED). Contours are displayed between 1:289K and 1:72K scales in The National Map viewer. Contour intervals are 100-feet at 1:289K and 1:144K, and 50-feet at 1:72K. The National Map viewer allows free downloads of public domain contour data in either Esri File Geodatabase or Shapefile formats. The NED serves as the elevation layer of The National Map, and provides basic elevation information for earth science studies and mapping applications. Scientists and resource managers use NED data for global change research, hydrologic modeling, resource monitoring, mapping and visualization, and many other applications. For additional information on the NED, go to http://ned.usgs.gov.

The Public Papers of the Presidents, which is compiled and published by the Office of the Federal Register, National Archives and Records Administration, began in 1957 in response to a recommendation of the National Historical Publications Commission. Noting the lack of uniform compilations of messages and papers of the Presidents before this time, the Commission recommended the establishment of an official series in which Presidential writings, addresses, and remarks of a public nature could be made available.

This data product summarizes the farm-structural characteristics for irrigated farms in the 17 Western States based on USDA's 2008 and 1998 Farm and Ranch Irrigation Surveys (FRIS) (see the Documentation for data sources and methods). The tables are grouped into 16 sections, ranging from total irrigation values (for all irrigated farms), to higher efficiency irrigation, to irrigated farms receiving financial/technical assistance designed to encourage onfarm water and energy conservation. All tables identify specific irrigation characteristics for four farm size classes, by State. For more details, see the Summary of Results.

Description

Version 3b (v3b) of the Extended Reconstructed Sea Surface Temperature (ERSST) dataset is a monthly SST analysis on a 2-degree global grid based on the International Comprehensive Ocean-Atmosphere Data Set (ICOADS) Release 2.4. ERSST v3b is generated using in situ SST data and improved statistical methods that allow stable reconstruction using sparse data throughout the 150 year record. The monthly SST analysis extends from January 1854 to the present month, but because of sparse data coverage in the early years, the analyzed signal is damped before 1880. After 1880, the strength of the signal is more consistent over time. The ERSST analysis is updated monthly with the available Global Telecommunication System (GTS) ship and buoy data for that month. The data from January 1985 to the previous month are recalculated every month, yet the data before Jan 1985 are not updated. SST anomalies are computed with respect to a 1971-2000 monthly climatology. ERSST is suitable for long-term global and basin-specific SST studies as short-term and local variations have been smoothed in the analysis. The previous ERSST Version 3 (v3) analysis used satellite-derived (AVHRR) SST data, however the satellite data are not included in v3b due to resulting residual biases. No satellite data were used in the earlier ERSST v2. ERSST is used as an input to the NCDC Merged Land-Ocean Surface Temperature (MLOST) dataset.

This part of DS 781 presents data for the bathymetry and shaded-relief maps of the Offshore of Bolinas, California (raster data file is included in "Bathymetry_OffshoreBolinas.zip," which is accessible from http://pubs.usgs.gov/ds/781/OffshoreBolinas/data_catalog_OffshoreBolinas.html. The bathymetry and shaded-relief maps of Offshore Bolinas, California, were generated from bathymetry data collected by California State University, Monterey Bay (CSUMB), by Fugro Pelagos, and by Moss Landing Marine Laboratory (MLML). Mapping was completed between 2004 and 2010, using a combination of 200-kHz and 400-kHz Reson 7125, and 244-kHz Reson 8101 multibeam echosounders, as well as 468-kHz SEA SWATHPlus and 250-kHz GeoSwath interferometric systems. Moss Landing Marine Laboratory mapped the nearshore region north of Bolinas in 2004 prior to the California Seafloor Mapping Program (CSMP). The nearshore region from south of Bolinas Lagoon to Stinson Beach was mapped by Fugro Pelagos in 2009 for a project outside of the CSMP and only bathymetry data were collected. These mapping missions combined to collect bathymetry from about the 10-m isobath to beyond the 3-nautical-mile limit of Californiaís State Waters. NOTE: the horizontal datum of the bathymtry data (NAD83) differs from the horizontal datum of other layers in this data series (WGS84). Some bathymetry grids within this map were projected horizontally from WGS84 to NAD83 using ESRI tools to be more consistent with the vertical reference of the North American Vertical Datum of 1988 (NAVD88). These data are not intended for navigational purposes.

This map layer shows areal and linear water features of the United States, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The original file was produced by joining the individual State hydrography layers from the 1:2,000,000- scale Digital Line Graph (DLG) data produced by the USGS. This map layer was formerly distributed as Hydrography Features of the United States. This is a revised version of the January 2003 map layer.
