Description

This dataset is for infant mortality for 2004 through 2013. The death of a baby before his or her first birthday is called infant mortality. The dataset also includes California live birth population data that can be used to determine infant mortality rates. The infant mortality rate is an estimate of the number of infant deaths for every 1,000 live births. Race and Ethnicity of the infant is determined by the mother. As with any statistic, a rate based upon a small numerator and a much larger denominator may not be reliable.
