Summary
Description
This dataset shows the standard deviation of rainfall for each pixel in Queensland for all years. High year-to-year variability in rainfall in Queensland is closely connected to El Nino-Southern Oscillation (ENSO), a major climate feature affecting eastern Australia. Rainfall is usually lower in El Nino years and higher in La Nina years. For example, crop yields for wheat and sorghum closely correlate to ENSO conditions. In El Nino years yield outcomes are generally lower than the long term average. In La Nina years yields are generally higher than the long term average.
