Summary
Description
Resources of concern are the primary focus of this Habitat Management Plan for Parker River and Thacher Island National Wildlife Refuges. Migratory birds, interjurisdictional fish, marine mammals, wetlands, and endangeredthreatened species are the main resources of concern. The plan lists priority habitats, the species that will benefit from each habitat, and the limiting factors for each habitat. These habitats include: sandy beaches, rocky shores, dune grasslands, salt marshes, interdunal swales, sandplain grasslands, impoundments, Thacher Island, maritime shrublands and forests, grasslands, tidal rivers, bays, estuaries, and nearshore marine open waters. Management strategies, goals, and objectives are discussed for each habitat type.
