Description

SSI are an important cause of morbidity and mortality and significantly increase the costs of care. Surveillance and feedback of rates of SSI to surgical teams has been shown to reduce the rate at which these infections occur. This surveillance enables Trusts to benchmark their rates of SSI in these categories of procedure against national rates derived from aggregate data
