Description
Bathythermograph data were collected from the HALF MOON within a 1-mile radius of Ocean Weather Station B (56305N 05100W) and in transit. Data were collected by the United States Coast Guard from 16 September 1963 to 11 October 1963. The platform was equipped and staffed to observe weather and sea conditions. Data were processed by NODC to the NODC standard Universal Bathythermograph Output (UBT) format. Full format description is available from NODC at www.nodc.noaa.gov/General/NODC-Archive/bt.html. The UBT file format is used for temperature-depth profile data obtained using the mechanical bathythermograph (MBT) instrument. The maximum depth of MBT observations is approximately 285 m. Therefore, MBT data are useful only in studying the thermal structure of the upper layers of the ocean. Cruise information, date, position, and time are reported for each observation. The data record comprises pairs of temperature-depth values. Temperature data in this file are recorded at uniform 5 m depth intervals.

In addition, NODC Accession 0125757 contains supplementary cruise-level metadata, which OMAO personnel logged in the Ship Daily Activity Log (SDAL). OMAO and NODC personnel developed the automated process to archive these data under the auspices of the NOAA Rolling Deck to Repository (NOAA R2R) program.

Description
This data set contains Tide Gauge data collected from the Drake Passage between Cape Horn and Antarctica from February 1975 to February 1976. These data were collected by Dr. Dale Pillsbury, Princeton University and submitted by J. Bottero from Oregon State University. The data were collected as part of the FDRAKE 75 project sponsored by IDOE under NSF grant number OCE74-12558. Anderaa tide gauge was used to collect the tide data. Current meter data was also submitted from fixed platforms. Information regarding the exact locations of the moorings used to collect current meter data is available.

Environmental Sensitivity Index (ESI) maps are an integral component in oil-spill contingency planning and assessment. They serve as a source of information in the event of an oil spill incident.ESI maps contain three types of information: shoreline habitats (classified according to their sensitivity to oiling), sensitive biological resources, and human-use resources. Most often, this information is plotted on 7.5 minute USGS quadrangles, although in the Alaska ESI maps, USGS topographic maps at scales of 1:63,360 and 1:250,000 are used, and in other ESI maps, NOAA charts have been used as the base map. Collections of these maps, grouped by state or a logical geographic area, are published as ESI atlases. Digital data have been published for most of the U.S. shoreline, including Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico.

Description
This Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) LAS dataset is a survey of inland Okaloosa County, Florida not covered in the 2008 Florida Department of Emergency Management LiDAR initiative. The project area consists of approximately 874 square miles, including a buffer of approximately 50 feet along the edges of the project. The project design of the LiDAR data acquisition was developed to support a nominal post spacing of 4.9 feet or 1.5 meters for un-obscured areas. Fugro EarthData, Inc. acquired 49 flight lines in three lifts on February 10, 2008. The data was divided into 5000' by 5000' foot cells that serve as the tiling scheme. LiDAR data collection was performed with a Cessna 310 aircraft, utilizing a Leica ALS50-II MPiA sensor, collecting multiple return x, y, and z data as well as intensity data. LiDAR data was processed to achieve a bare ground surface. LIDAR data is remotely sensed high-resolution elevation data collected by an airborne collection platform. Using a combination of laser range finding, GPS positioning and inertial measurement technologies, LIDAR instruments are able to make highly detailed Digital Elevation Models (DEMs) of the earth's terrain, man-made structures and vegetation. This data of inland Okaloosa County, Florida, was collected at sufficient resolution to provide a nominal point spacing of 1.5m for collected points. Up to 5 returns were recorded for each pulse in addition to an intensity value.

Description
The goals of the cruise were to collect acoustic backscatter and oceanographic data at Cross Seamount (18?43.285? N, longitude 158? 15.710? W) and at control sites in the surrounding environment. Data collected consisted of CTD casts, trawl samples, and continuous monitoring of currents and biological acoustic backscatter. CTD cats were conducted at predetermined stations. CTDs were equipped with oxygen sensors and fluorometers. Trawl operations were conducted at predetermined stations using a Cobb trawl at depths of the shallow (nighttime) and deep (day and nighttime) sound scattering layers. Currents were continuously monitored using an RD Instruments Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler (ADCP) operating at 75 kHz frequency. Biological backscatter were recorded along predetermined transects using the EK60 echosounder system at 38, 70, & 120 kHz frequencies.
