Description

NODC Accession 0109933 includes biological, chemical, discrete sample, physical and profile data collected from NATHANIEL B. PALMER in the South Atlantic Ocean and South Pacific Ocean from 2011-02-19 to 2011-04-23 and retrieved during cruise CLIVAR_S04P_2011. These data include ALKALINITY, CHLOROFLUOROCARBON-11 (CFC-11), CHLOROFLUOROCARBON-113 (CFC-113), CHLOROFLUOROCARBON-12 (CFC-12), Chromophoric Dissolved Organic Matter (CDOM), DELTA CARBON-13, DELTA CARBON-14, DELTA HELIUM-3, DISSOLVED INORGANIC CARBON, DISSOLVED ORGANIC CARBON, DISSOLVED OXYGEN, Delta Oxygen - 18, HELIUM, HYDROSTATIC PRESSURE, NITRATE, NITRITE, PARTICULATE ORGANIC CARBON, PHOSPHATE, PIGMENTS, Partial pressure (or fugacity) of carbon dioxide, SALINITY, SEA SURFACE TEMPERATURE, SILICATE, SULFUR HEXAFLUORIDE (SF6), Total Dissolved Nitrogen (TDN), Tritium (Hydrogen isotope), WATER TEMPERATURE and pH. The instruments used to collect these data include Alkalinity titrator, CTD, Coulometer for DIC measurement, Spectrophotometer for pH measrement and bottle. These data were collected by Frank J. Millero and Dennis Hansell of Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science, Andrew Dickson of Scripps Institution of Oceanography and Richard A. Feely and Chris Sabine of US DOC; NOAA; OAR; Pacific Marine Environmental Laboratory as part of the CLIVAR_S04P_2011 data set. The International CLIVAR Global Ocean Carbon and Repeat Hydrography Program carries out a systematic and global re-occupation of select WOCE/JGOFS hydrographic sections to quantify changes in storage and transport of heat, fresh water, carbon dioxide (CO2), and related parameters.
