Description

Starting with Fiscal Year 2001, the Annual Report and Annual Report Appendix have been combined and renamed the Combined Statement of Receipts, Outlays, and Balances of the United States Government (Combined Statement). The Combined Statement is recognized as the official publication of receipts and outlays with which all other reports containing similar data must be in agreement. It presents budgetary results at the summary and detail level. It is part of a triad of publications that includes: the Monthly Treasury Statement, a report of the government receipts and outlays that is based on agency reporting, and the Daily Treasury Statement, summarizing data on the cash and debt operations of the Treasury based on reporting of the Treasury account balances of the Federal Reserve banks.

Description

Hydrographic and Impairment Statistics (HIS) is a National Park Service (NPS) Water Resources Division (WRD) project established to track certain goals created in response to the Government Performance and Results Act of 1993 (GPRA). One water resources management goal established by the Department of the Interior under GRPA requires NPS to track the percent of its managed surface waters that are meeting Clean Water Act (CWA) water quality standards. This goal requires an accurate inventory that spatially quantifies the surface water hydrography that each bureau manages and a procedure to determine and track which waterbodies are or are not meeting water quality standards as outlined by Section 303(d) of the CWA. This project helps meet this DOI GRPA goal by inventorying and monitoring in a geographic information system for the NPS: (1) CWA 303(d) quality impaired waters and causes; (2) hydrographic statistics based on the United States Geological Survey (USGS) National Hydrography Dataset (NHD); and (3) special designations recognizing waters of exceptional quality as defined in State water quality standards. Hydrographic and 303(d) impairment statistics were evaluated based on a combination of 1:24,000 (NHD) and finer scale data (frequently provided by state GIS layers). Information on State-designated uses and waters of exceptional quality are only available for a limited number of parks at this time.

Description

An Innerspace 456 single-beam echosounder in conjunction with a Trimble® differential Global Positioning System (DGPS), HYPACK® navigation software, and Ashtech Z-Xtreme and Trimble® R8 Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) receivers was used to survey 7 chutes and 3 backwaters on the Missouri River yearly from 2011-13. These chutes and backwaters are located on the Missouri River between Newcastle, Nebraska and Rulo, Nebraska in the States of Nebraska, Iowa, and Missouri. Surveys of chutes consisted of topographic and bathymetric data collected along transects spaced 30.48 m apart from high bank to high bank. Surveys of backwaters consisted of topographic and bathymetric data collected along a transect grid of 76.2 m spacing. The data were collected by the U.S. Geological Survey in cooperation with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Omaha District as part of the Missouri River Habitat Assessment and Monitoring Program.

Description

These data were collected under a cooperative agreement with the Massachusetts Office of Coastal Zone Management (CZM) and the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), Coastal and Marine Geology Program, Woods Hole Coastal and Marine Science Center (WHCMSC). Initiated in 2003, the primary objective of this program is to develop regional geologic framework information for the management of coastal and marine resources. Accurate data and maps of sea-floor geology are important first steps toward protecting fish habitat, delineating marine resources, and assessing environmental changes due to natural or human impacts. The project is focused on the inshore waters of coastal Massachusetts, primarily in water depths of 3-30 meters deep. Data collected for the mapping cooperative have been released in a series of USGS Open-File Reports (http://woodshole.er.usgs.gov/project-pages/coastal_mass/html/current_map.html). The data collected in the study area located in Northern Cape Cod Bay Massachusetts includes high-resolution geophysics (bathymetry, backscatter intensity, and seismic reflection), and ground validation (sediment samples, video tracklines, and bottom photographs). The data were collected during five separate surveys conducted between 2006 and 2008 and cover 480 square kilometers of the inner continental shelf. More information about the individual USGS surveys conducted as part of the northern Cape Cod Bay project can be found on the Woods Hole Coastal and Marine Science Center Field Activity webpage: 06012: http://quashnet.er.usgs.gov/data/2006/06012/ 07001: http://quashnet.er.usgs.gov/data/2007/07001/ 07002: http://quashnet.er.usgs.gov/data/2007/07002/ 07003: http://quashnet.er.usgs.gov/data/2007/07003/ 08002: http://quashnet.er.usgs.gov/data/2008/08002/
