Description

The Natural Resource Management Index (NRMI), 2009 Release is a composite index for 171 countries derived from the average of four proximity-to-target indicators for eco-region protection, access to improved sanitation, access to improved water and child mortality. The 2009 release of the NRMI includes time series NRMIs for 2006, 2007, 2008, and 2009. Note that the time series for 2006-2008 is not directly comparable to earlier releases of the NRMI owing to changes in data and methods. The dataset is produced and distributed by the Columbia University Center for International Earth Science Information Network (CIESIN) in collaboration with the Yale Center for Environmental Law and Policy (YCELP), Yale University.
