Summary
Description
Spring 1984 survey of several islands along the Alaska Peninsula as the FWS charter vessel established fox eradication camps in the Shumagin and Aleutian islands. There were two purposes for this survey: 1 Complete our wildlife inventory of the Alaska Peninsula Unit and 2 Monitor manmade disturbances on selected islands. Although remotely located, these islands have experienced disturbances from introduced foxes, ground squirrels, voles and cattle. This survey was conducted secondarily to our fox work and thus did not coincide with arrival of seabirds to their colonies. However, more reliable data were collected on raptors and mammals.
