Summary
Description
This Comprehensive Conservation Plan CCP will guide management on Selawik NWR for the next 15 years. Fish and wildlife conservation will receive first priority in Refuge management; wildlifedependent recreation will be allowed and encouraged as long as it is compatible with, and does not detract from, the mission of the Refuge or the purposes for which it was established. This plan provides an introduction to the Refuge, an overview of the CCP process, goals and objectives, a description of the affected environment, environmental consequences, and strategies for implementation and monitoring. Key issues include: fish and wildlife management, transportation, hunting, public use, climate change, water quality and quantity, and outreach.
