Description
This report presents information collected during the second year of a three year study by the Alaska Department of Fish and Game and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service of the Porcupine caribou herds calving distribution, initial productivity and neonatal mortality. Calving distribution and areas of concentrated calving activity were determined by relocation of 31 radiocollared adult 3 years old female caribou Rangifer tarandus, and by aerial reconnaissance surveys during late spring migration and calving seasons.
