Description

The Source Catchment model is used by the Queensland Government to model the responses of catchments adjacent to the Great Barrier Reef lagoon, and to calculate the loads of pollutants, in particular the transport of sediments, nutrients and pesticides. The model is a representation of the complex interactions between regional climate, storm and daily events, soil type, land slope, land use and land management practices, and calibrated using measured data. This dataset is an example of a time series output from the Source Catchments model for water flows, fine sediments and dissolved inorganic nitrogen on a daily basis for the period 1986 to 2014. Further details on the application of the Source Catchments model are available at: http://www.reefplan.qld.gov.au/measuring-success/methods/assets/gbr-report-card-2012-and-2013-catchment-pollutant-loads-methods.pdf.
