Popis
These data contain micronekton samples collected during mid-water trawling operations in the Pacific in pelagic environments and at sea mounts. Data is collected by a "Stauffer modified Cobb Trawl", specialized for micronekton tows. During daytimes, trawling operations are conducted in the deep acoustic scattering layer (500-750m), while during nighttimes both in the deep and the shallow (20-200m) scattering layers. Samples are weighed and sorted into main groups (approximately family level), then preserved. Preserved samples are measured for length and sorted into the smallest taxonomic groups possible (mostly species level).
