Terrain data, as defined in FEMA Guidelines and Specifications, Appendix N: Data Capture Standards, describes the digital topographic data that was used to create the elevation data representing the terrain environment of a watershed and/or floodplain. Terrain data requirements allow for flexibility in the types of information provided as sources used to produce final terrain deliverables. This tabular data set represents the average annual R-factor, rainfall-runoff erosivity measure, compiled for every MRB_E2RF1 catchment of selected Major River Basins (MRBs, Crawford and others, 2006). The source data are from Christopher Daly of the Spatial Climate Analysis Service, Oregon State University, and George Taylor of the Oregon Climate Service, Oregon State University (2002). The ERF1_2 catchments are based on a modified version of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (USEPA) ERF1_2 and include enhancements to support national and regional-scale surface-water quality modeling (Nolan and others, 2002; Brakebill and others, 2011). Data were compiled for every MRB_E2RF1 catchment for the conterminous United States covering New England and Mid-Atlantic (MRB1), South Atlantic-Gulf and Tennessee (MRB2), the Great Lakes, Ohio, Upper Mississippi, and Souris-Red-Rainy (MRB3), the Missouri (MRB4), the Lower Mississippi, Arkansas-White-Red, and Texas-Gulf (MRB5), the Rio Grande, Colorado, and the Great basin (MRB6), the Pacific Northwest (MRB7) river basins, and California (MRB8).

This digital dataset contains 61 sets of annual streamflow gains and losses between 1961 and 1977 along Central Valley surface-water network for the Central Valley Hydrologic Model (CVHM). The Central Valley encompasses an approximate 50,000 square-kilometer region of California. The complex hydrologic system of the Central Valley is simulated using the USGS's numerical modeling code MODFLOW-FMP (Schmid and others, 2006). This simulation is referred to here as the CVHM (Faunt, 2009). Utilizing MODFLOW-FMP, the CVHM simulates groundwater and surface-water flow, irrigated agriculture, land subsidence, and other key processes in the Central Valley on a monthly basis from 1961-2003. The total active modeled area is 20,334 square-miles. The CVHM includes complex surface-water management processes. The hydrology of the present-day Central Valley and the CVHM model are driven by surface-water deliveries and associated groundwater pumpage. The Streamflow Routing Package (SFR1) is linked to MODFLOW-FMP to facilitate the simulated conveyance of surface-water deliveries. If surface-water deliveries do not meet the farm-delivery requirement, the FMP invokes simulated groundwater pumping to meet the demand. The surface-water network represents a subset of the entire stream network in the valley. Quantitative observations of streamflow gains and losses were available for 57 reaches of 20 major stream systems in the Central Valley for water years 1961-77 (Mullen and Nady, 1985). These observations were included in parameter estimation process and in the model-fit statistics. The CVHM is the most recent regional-scale model of the Central Valley developed by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS). The CVHM was developed as part of the USGS Groundwater Resources Program (see "Foreword", Chapter A, page iii, for details).

4-band aerial imagery was collected by Fugro Horizons using the Leica ADS40(SH52) camera with 30 percent side overlap on 8/26/09. The flight height was 9,600 feet AMT(above mean terrain). The imagery was adjusted using Airborne GPS data. The imagery was used to create 4-band 25cm GSD (ground sample distance)georeferenced TIFF files based on DEM (Digital Elevation Model) data from 2008-2009 Red River LiDAR collect. Deliverables include NIR-RGB 25cm pixel orthophotography, a flight index, and metadata (this file). The georeferenced files are based on UTM Zone14N NAD83 Meters'. The tiling scheme is based on 2000x2000 meter tiles with a UTM naming convention. Horizons project# H09-0419.

These digital point data of altitudes of the Paleozoic and older rocks of the Upper Colorado River Basin (UCRB) were created for the purpose of developing a generalized predevelopment groundwater flow model of the Mesozoic and Paleozoic aquifers in the Upper Colorado River Basin and use that model along with a few recharge estimates to estimate water budgets for the aquifers including associated groundwater contributions to the Colorado River surface water system. The modeling exercise also explored considerations for development of a more detailed groundwater flow model that would include all of the major aquifers in the Upper Colorado River Basin.
