Herring spawning and other data were collected from aircraft from the Bering Sea as part of the Outer Continental Shelf Environmental Assessment Program (OCSEAP). Data were collected from 07 May 1977 to 28 October 1978 by the Alaska State Department of Fish and Game - Kodiak. Data were processed by NODC to the NODC standard F057 Herring Spawning format. Full format descriptions is available from the NODC homepage at www.nodc.noaa.gov/. An analog file for this accession is available from NODC user services. The F057 format contains data from aircraft surveys of herring schools. These data were collected to provide information on herring population density and distribution. Start date and time, start and end positions, and aircraft type, altitude and airspeed were reported for each survey. Surveys were conducted for preassigned areas; mid-point positions of census areas were reported. environmental information may include meteorological conditions, sea state, air roughness and water clarity. Census data include species identification, school position and activity, school size index and number of schools sighted. Predominant beach type, biota type and escarpment type may also be indicated.

Temperature profiles were collected from XBT casts from the ALLEGIANCE from 04 March 1980 to 05 March 1980. Data were collected by the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) as part of the Marine Resources Monitoring, Assessment and Prediction (MARMAP) project. Data were processed by NODC to the NODC standard Universal Bathythermograph Output (UBT) format. Full format description is available from NODC at www.nodc.noaa.gov/General/NODC-Archive/bt.html. The UBT format contains temperature-depth profile data obtained using expendable bathythermograph (XBT) instruments. Cruise information, position, date and time were reported for each observation. The data records are comprised of pairs of temperature-depth values. The XBT data files contain temperature values at non-uniform depths. These depths were recorded at the minimum number of points (''''inflection points'''') required to accurately define the temperature curve. Standard XBTs can obtain profiles to depths of either 450 or 760 m. Special instruments permitted measurements to be obtained to 1830 m.

1) The purpose of this project is to examine how a variety of contaminants (urban stormwater, legacy compounds, pesticides, etc.) affect the growth and behavior of juvenile salmon and their macroinvertebrate prey. This is the "eco" in ecotoxicology. 2) Work is performed primarily by Kate Macneale (NWFSC term employee), but this large and diverse set of studies and experiments also involve other NWFSC FTEs, other terms, contractors and staff from collaborating agencies. 3) Work includes experiments done in mesocosms in the field and lab as well as surveys done in urban streams and in the Columbia River. 4) Specific products include manuscripts in peer-reviewed journals as well as analyses used in Biological Opinions. 5) Specific audiences include (but are not limited to) local and county managers, the regional office, other agency and academic scientists. 6) Project is ongoing. 7) This description covers multiple stand-alone projects. 8) Completion deadlines for different aspects of this project are soft. Field survey data: habitat unit descriptions, hourly water temperatures, coho salmon and cutthroat trout capture records, tagging and measurement records for repeated surveys, stomach contents from fish diet samples

The dataset encompasses portions of Wenas Valley in Kitittas and Yakima Counties, Washington. The bare earth digital elevation models (DEMs) represent the earth's surface with all vegetation and human-made structures removed. The bare earth DEMs were derived from LiDAR data using TIN processing of the ground point returns. Some elevation values have been interpolated across areas in the ground model where there is no elevation data (e.g. over dense vegetation). The DEM grid cell size is 3-ft. The projection is NAD83 (HARN) Washington State Plane, South. The elevation units are in U.S. Survey Feet. Watershed Sciences, Inc. collected the LiDAR and created this data set for the Puget Sound LiDAR Consortium. Watershed Sciences, Inc. (WS) initially collected 37,969 acres of Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) data of the Wenas Valley area of interest (AOI) in Kittitas and Yakima Counties, WA on October 28th, 2009. This data was delivered on November 21st, 2009. After the AOI was clear of snow, the remaining 110,255 acres were collected on March 22nd and from June 12th to June 16th, 2010. The total deliverable area including a 100 m buffer is 148,224 acres.
