This data set contains sensitive biological resource data for Louisiana black bear, Northern raccoon, river otter, rice rat, Eastern pipistrel, and muskrat in Mississippi. Vector polygons in this data set represent terrestrial mammal distribution. Species specific abundance, seasonality, status, life history, and source information are stored in relational data tables (described below) designed to be used in conjunction with this spatial data layer.This data set comprises a portion of the ESI data for Mississippi. ESI data characterize the marine and coastal environments and wildlife by their sensitivity to spilled oil. The ESI data include information for three main components: shoreline habitats, sensitive biological resources, and human-use resources.

NOAA's polar-orbiting satellites measure SST around the globe in near-real-time, and Coral Reef Watch produces a suite of products derived from this set of satellite SST and uses them to pinpoint areas around the world where corals are at risk for bleaching. This is a suite of operational products produced at 0.5 degree (approximately 50 km) spatial resolution twice-weekly. The products include nighttime sea surface temperature, nighttime sea surface temperature anomaly, coral bleaching HotSpots, and Degree Heating Weeks for the global oceans.

This cruise will be composed of two separate legs. The first leg will be a transit from San Diego, CA to the Galapagos Spreading Center, where multibeam mapping, CTD casts, and CTD tow-yo operations will be performed. The ship will have a port call and science party change in Puntarenas, Costa Rica between July 2 and July 7, 2011. Following this port call, from July 7 - July 28, 2011, the ROV Little Hercules and camera sled Seirios, will investigate targets identified in Leg 1. Further multibeam mapping and CTD casts will also be performed. Leg 2 will end at Balboa, Panama.

These data represent data collected from the Shipboard Environmental (data) Acquisition System (SEAS), a program developed by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) to provide accurate meteorological and oceanographic data in real time from ships at sea through the use of satellite data transmission techniques. The system transmits data through either the Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite (GOES) or the International Maritime Satellite Organization (INMARSAT C) satellites to NOAA for use in weather, climatological and ocean models. NOAA is actively participating in an international effort to increase the number of subsurface temperature observations in support of global oceanographic and climate studies. NOAA's Expendable Bathythermograph (XBT) program, SEAS, currently supports about 80 Voluntary Observing Ships (VOS). SEAS XBT data are archived by the National Oceanographic Data Center (NODC) on a weekly basis.

In 2006 and 2007 the NOAA Coastal Services Center purchased services to reprocess existing digital multi-spectral imagery (ADS-40) and create digital benthic habitat data from this imagery for selected Texas coastal bend bays. The Center worked cooperatively with the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) and the Texas A&M University Center for Coastal Studies to develop benthic habitat data, primarily Submerged Aquatic Vegetation (SAV) for several coastal bays. This data will support the state's recently adopted Seagrass Monitoring Program which calls for regional mapping of SAV for status and trends assessment. The Center, Texas A&M, and TPWD have coordinated on the requirements of this project.

TerraPoint surveyed and created this data for the Puget Sound LiDAR Consortium under contract. The area surveyed is approximately 525 square miles and covers all of Island County, WA and the Northeast portion of Jefferson County, WA. All data was collected during ideal conditions (leaf-off). The LAS files were derived from all returns ASCII files contain the X,Y,Z values of all the LiDAR returns collected during the survey mission. The GPS time, scan angle and return numbers of each point were preserved in the conversion from ASCII to LAS. The LAS files were classified into the following ASPRS classes: (1) Unclassified (2) Bare Earth. Ground and water points are included in Class 2 (Bare Earth). Futher details are available in the Process Steps below. No ancillary data, such as intensity, is available for this data. Initially this dataset was flown in 2001 with a 30% overlap between flight lines which did not meet specifications. The dataset was reflown in 2002 with a 50% overlap between flight lines as the rest of the PSLC data. The data is broken down into USGS quarter quads and then into 25 tiles within each quarter quad. Due to the overlap the nominal point spacing of the dataset is 1.0 meter.
