ABSTRACT: This data set includes aerosol optical thickness measurements from the CIMEL sunphotometer for 22 sites in Brazil during the period from 1993-2005. The AERONET (AErosol RObotic NETwork) program is an inclusive federation of ground-based remote sensing aerosol networks established by AERONET and the PHOtometrie pour le Traitement Operationnel de Normalisation Satellitaire (PHOTONS) and greatly expanded by AEROCAN (the Canadian sunphotometer network) and other agency, institute and university partners. The goal is to assess aerosol optical properties and validate satellite retrievals of aerosol optical properties. The network imposes standardization of instruments, calibration, and processing. Data from this collaboration provides globally distributed observations of spectral aerosol optical depths, inversion products, and precipitable water in geographically diverse aerosol regimes. Three levels of data are available from the AERONET website: Level 1.0 (unscreened), Level 1.5 (cloud-screened), and Level 2.0 (cloud-screened and quality-assured). Data provided here are Level 2.0. There are 22 comma-delimited data files with this data set and one companion text file which contains the latitude, longitude, and elevation of the 22 sites.

This population historically migrated as subyearling smolts, but in recent years, the yearling life history has become more common. Environmental conditions associated with dams and reservoirs might be exerting strong selection for alteration of life history traits that evolved over millennia. This project attempts to determine the extent to which these life history changes are due to evolution (genetic change) as opposed to phenotypic plasticity (non-genetic response to different environmental conditions). Gridded bathymetry and IKONOS estimated depths of the shelf and slope environments of the Northwestern Hawaiian Islands, USA within UTM Zone 3. Bottom coverage was achieved in depths between 0 and 5200 meters. The ASCII includes multibeam bathymetry from the Simrad EM300, Simrad EM3002d, and Reson 8101 multibeam sonars collected as of October 2006 by the NOAA Coral Reef Ecosystem Division in depths between 20 and 5000 meters. The ASCII grid also includes multibeam bathymetry from the SeaBeam 3012 phase 1 hybrid multibeam sonar system installed on the R/V Kaimikai-o-Kanaloa provided by the Hawaii Undersea Research Laboaratory for this data synthesis. The ASCII grid also includes estimated depths derived from high resolution IKONOS satellite imagery by the NOAA/NOS/NCCOS/CCMA Remote Sensing Team in shallow water between 0 and 16 meters.

Popis

Temperature profile data were collected using bathythermograph (BT/XBT) casts from ALSTER EXPRESS and other platforms in the Pacific Ocean from September 23, 1983 to April 24, 1984. Data were submitted by Scripps Institution of Oceanography as part of the Thermal Structure Monitoring Program in the Pacific (TRANSPAC) project. Data were processed by NODC to the NODC standard Universal Bathythermograph Output (UBT) format. Full BT descriptions are available at http://www.nodc.noaa.gov/General/NODC-Archive/bt.html. The UBT format contains temperature-depth profile data obtained using expendable bathythermograph (XBT) instruments. Cruise information, position, date and time were reported for each observation. The data record was comprised of pairs of temperature-depth values. Unlike the MBT Data File, in which temperature values were recorded at uniform 5 m intervals, the XBT data files contained temperature values at non-uniform depths. These depths were recorded at the minimum number of points (''inflection points'') required to accurately define the temperature curve. Standard XBTs can obtain profiles to depths of either 450 or 760 m. With special instruments, measurements can be obtained to 1830 m.

The one month data in this accession was collected in March 1990 from ship Reasoner. The real time data of water temperature at varying depth bathythermograph (XBT) was recorded in stripcharts by the US Navy. Thirty eight stripcharts and radio logs were submitted to NODC. The XBT data from these stripcharts have been digitized and is present in the current NODC data storage system in C116 file format.

This SeaLevel Affecting Marshes Model SLAMM report presents a model for projecting the effects of sealevel rise on coastal marshes and related habitats on Green Cay National Wildlife Refuge. This SeaLevel Affecting Marshes Model SLAMM report presents a model for projecting the effects of sealevel rise on coastal marshes and related habitats on Green Cay National Wildlife Refuge. The model is spatially explicit, using GIS technology to produce maps and tables that summarize the projected effects. The SLAMM simulations include five primary processes that affect wetland fate under different scenarios of sealevel rise including: inundation, erosion, overwash, saturation, and accretion.

The South Carolina Department of Natural Resources (SCDNR) contracted with Sanborn to provide LiDAR mapping services for Florence County, SC. Utilizing multi-return systems, Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) data in the form of 3-dimensional positions of a dense set of mass points was collected for approximately 887 square miles between March 16th and March 19th 2009. All systems consist of geodetic GPS positioning, orientation derived from high-end inertial sensors and high-accurate lasers. The sensor is attached to the aircraft’s underside and emits rapid pulses of light that are used to determine distances between the plane and terrain below. Specifically, the Leica ALS-50 LiDAR system was used to collect data for the survey campaign. During final data processing, the calibration parameters are inserted into post-processing software. A total of thirteen airborne GPS (Global Positioning System) base stations were used in the Florence County Project. Two new points, 501 and 502, were created to assist the accuracy of the network. The remaining 11 points were NGS stations. Together, these base stations were tied to the other point to create a GPS survey network. The coordinates of these stations were checked against each other with the three dimensional GPS baseline created at the airborne support set up and determined to be within project specifications. The acquired LiDAR data was processed to obtain first and last return point data. The last return data was further filtered to yield a LiDAR surface representing the bare earth.
