Physical, meteorological, wave spectra, and other data were collected from CTD casts and current meters from the MCARTHUR and other platforms in the Columbia River (Wash./Oregon). Data were collected by the National Ocean Service (NOS) from 06 May 1981 to 25 November 1981. Data were processed by NODC to the NODC standard F022-High-Resolution CTD/STD Output and the F191-Meteorology and Wave Spectra formats. Full format and format code descriptions are available at http://www.nodc.noaa.gov/General/NODC-datafmts.html. The F022 format contains high-resolution data collected using CTD (conductivity-temperature-depth) and STD (salinity-temperature-depth) instruments. As they are lowered and raised in the oceans, these electronic devices provide nearly continuous profiles of temperature, salinity, and other parameters. Data values may be subject to averaging or filtering or obtained by interpolation and may be reported at depth intervals as fine as 1m. Cruise and instrument information, position, date, time and sampling interval are reported for each station. Environmental data at the time of the cast (meteorological and sea surface conditions) may also be reported. The data record comprises values of temperature, salinity or conductivity, density (computed sigma-t), and possibly dissolved oxygen or transmissivity at specified depth or pressure levels. Data may be reported at either equally or unequally spaced depth or pressure intervals. A text record is available for comments. The F191 format is used to report meteorological data and ocean wave spectra data from NDBO. The format contains seven data record types to: 1) identify the buoy for position, duration, rate of sampling and heading, 2) identify the meteorological parameters, (temperature, pressure, weather, solar radiation, and surface waves), and 3) report time times series frequency, density and resolution of waves. Each record is 120 character in length, sorted by station and record type.

Temperature profiles were collected from XBT casts from the FORAGER and other platforms from 14 February 1981 to 05 January 1983. Data were collected by the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) as part of the Marine Resources Monitoring, Assessment and Prediction (MARMAP) project. Data were processed by NODC to the NODC standard Universal Bathythermograph Output (UBT) format. Full format description is available from NODC at www.nodc.noaa.gov/General/NODC-Archive/bt.html. The UBT format contains temperature-depth profile data obtained using expendable bathythermograph (XBT) instruments. Cruise information, position, date and time were reported for each observation. The data records are comprised of pairs of temperature-depth values. The XBT data files contain temperature values at non-uniform depths. These depths were recorded at the minimum number of points (''''inflection points'''') required to accurately define the temperature curve. Standard XBTs can obtain profiles to depths of either 450 or 760 m. Special instruments permitted measurements to be obtained to 1830 m.

This dataset represents seabird species richness, or number of species, predictions from spatial models developed for the New York offshore spatial planning area. This raster was derived from multiple individual species season models. The model also includes spatially-explicit uncertainty estimates represented in another raster dataset. Raster values represent the annual predicted number of seabird species.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers collects and maintains LiDAR data including orthophotos in coastal areas of the United States and its territories. The Corps acquires this data in the course of performing its mission of Flood Control, Navigation, Environmental Engineering, and support for the Army and others. These data were collected along the Indiana, Michigan, Ohio and Pennsylvania coasts of the Great Lakes using the CHARTS (Compact Hydrographic Airborne Rapid Total Survey) system and industry based coastal mapping and charting systems.

Research Ship Knorr Underway Meteorological Data (delayed ~10 days for quality control) are from the Shipboard Automated Meteorological and Oceanographic System (SAMOS) program. IMPORTANT: ALWAYS USE THE QUALITY FLAG DATA! Each data variable's metadata includes a qcindex attribute which indicates a character number in the flag data. ALWAYS check the flag data for each row of data to see which data is good (flag='Z') and which data isn't. For example, to extract just data where time (qcindex=1), latitude (qcindex=2), longitude (qcindex=3), and airTemperature (qcindex=12) are 'good' data, include this constraint in your ERDDAP query: flag=~"ZZZ........Z.*" in your query. '=~' indicates this is a regular expression constraint. The 'Z's are literal characters. In this dataset, 'Z' indicates 'good' data. The '.'s say to match any character. The '*' says to match the previous character 0 or more times. (Don't include backslashes in your query.) NODC Accession 0132042 includes physical and underway data collected aboard the MELVILLE during cruise MV1314 in the North Pacific Ocean from 2013-10-31 to 2013-11-03. These data include CURRENT SPEED - EAST/WEST COMPONENT (U) and CURRENT SPEED - NORTH/SOUTH COMPONENT (V). The instruments used to collect these data include ADCP and GPS. These data were collected by William Hodgkiss of University of California - San Diego; Scripps Institution of Oceanography as part of MF Noise: Deep-Water Mid-Frequency Noise Array. The Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory (LDEO) submitted these data to NODC as part of the NSF sponsored Rolling Deck to Repository (R2R) program. The ADCP data represent the raw and automated processed data set. Post processed quality assessed data are not available in this accession.
