NODC Accession 0112349 includes biological, chemical, discrete sample, meteorological, physical and profile data collected from MIRAI in the North Pacific Ocean and South Pacific Ocean from 1998-12-29 to 1999-02-01 and retrieved during cruise MR98-K02 and PACIFICA_49NZ19981229. These data include AMMONIUM, CHLOROPHYLL, CHLOROPHYLL A, DISSOLVED INORGANIC CARBON, DISSOLVED OXYGEN, Extinction coefficient of the atmosphere, FLUORESCENCE, HYDROSTATIC PRESSURE, NITRATE, NITRITE, PHAEOPHYTIN, PHOSPHATE, Potential temperature (theta), SALINITY, SIGMA-T, SILICATE, WATER TEMPERATURE and pH. The instruments used to collect these data include CTD, Coulometer for DIC measurement and bottle. These data were collected by Takeshi Kawano of Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology (Jamstec) and Masao Ishii of Meteorological Research Institute; Geochemical Research Department as part of the PACIFICA_49NZ19981229 data set. PACIFICA (PACIFic ocean Interior CArbon) was an international collaborative project for the data synthesis of ocean interior carbon and its related parameters in the Pacific Ocean. The North Pacific Marine Science Organization (PICES), Section of Carbon and Climate (S-CC) supported the project.

NOAA's National Geophysical Data Center (NGDC) is building high-resolution digital elevation models (DEMs) to support individual coastal States as part of the National Tsunami Hazard Mitigation Program's (NTHMP) efforts to improve community preparedness and hazard mitigation. These integrated bathymetric-topographic DEMs are used to support tsunami and coastal inundation mapping. Bathymetric, topographic, and shoreline data used in DEM compilation are obtained from various sources, including NGDC, the U.S. National Ocean Service (NOS), the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), and other federal, state, and local government agencies, academic institutions, and private companies. DEMs are referenced to various vertical and horizontal datums depending on the specific modeling requirements of each State. For specific datum information on each DEM, refer to the appropriate DEM documentation. Cell sizes also vary depending on the specification required by modelers in each State, but typically range from 8/15 arc-second (~16 meters) to 8 arc-seconds (~240 meters).

The 2012 United States Automatic Identification System Database contains vessel traffic data for planning purposes within the U.S. coastal waters. The database is composed of 216 self-contained File Geodatabases (FGDB). Each FGDB represents one month of data for a single UTM zone. The UTM zones represented cover the entire United States and include 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, and 20. Each FGDB consists of one feature class, four tables, and two relationship classes. The Broadcast point feature class contains the position reports, which have been pre-filtered to a one-minute time step. The Voyage table contains elements of the static data reports that are updated for each ship voyage. The Vessel table contains elements of the static data reports that are specific to a particular vessel. The BaseStations table lists the base stations collecting data for a particular month/UTM zone. The AttributeUnits table contains a list of units for each of the attribute fields in the Broadcast, Voyage, and Vessel tables. The BroadcastHasVessel relationship class relates the broadcast points to the vessel table records. The BroadcastHasVoyage relationship class relates the broadcast points to the voyage table records.

CRED shallow Conductivity-Temperature-Depth (CTD) casts are vertical profiles (max 30 meter depth, downcast only) of temperature, conductivity and pressure. Data are collected at select nearshore locations, both around islands or banks and within lagoons. Data processing was performed using Seabird Instrument's SeaSoft SBE Data Processing Software (http://www.seabird.com/software/SBEDataProcforWindows.htm). Data format is discreet, tabular (formatted, space delimited ASCII) files for each profile, with a full header as provided by SeaSoft. Raw file extension is HEX, processed file extension is CNV. The header contains latitude, longitude and other location information, as well as all data processing steps and settings. All dates and times are UTC. All positions are WGS84 decimal degrees.
