This georeferenced RGB image represents 2 meter resolution bathymetry of the north shore of St. Croix, US Virgin Islands. NOAA's NOS/NCCOS/CCMA Biogeography Team, in collaboration with NOAA vessel Nancy Foster and territory, federal, and private sector partners, acquired multibeam bathymetry data in the US Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico from 3/21/06 to 4/2/06. Data was acquired with a hull-mounted Kongsberg Simrad EM 1002 multibeam echosounder (95 kHz) and processed by a NOAA contractor using CARIS HIPS software. Data has all correctors applied (attitude, sound velocity) and has been reduced to mean lower low water (MLLW) using final approved tides and zoning from NOAA COOPS. Data is in UTM zone 20 north, datum WGS84. The processed CARIS data was used to generate a CARIS BASE image surface based on swath angle. The project was conducted to meet IHO Order 1 and 2 accuracy standards, dependant on the project area and depth. All users should individually evaluate the suitability of this data according to their own needs and standards.

Twelve quadrats were sampled along 2 consecutively-placed, 25m transect lines as part of Rapid Ecological Assessments conducted at 9 sites at Kingman Reef in the US Line Islands in January, 2004 from the NOAA vessel Oscar Elton Sette (OES04-04). Raw survey data included genus presence and relative abundance, and voucher specimens. Detailed taxonomic analyses of voucher specimens are presented.

This data set is the topographic elevation point data derived from multiple return light detection and ranging (LiDAR) measurements for four counties in Georgia. These counties are: Burke, Columbia, Lincoln, and Richmond. The Statement of Work (SOW) was developed by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's (NOAA) Coastal Services Center (referred to as the Center) in partnership with the Georgia Department of Natural Resources (GADNR) Environmental Protection Division (EPD). LiDAR data is a remotely sensed high resolution elevation data collected by an airborne platform. The LiDAR sensor uses a combination of laser range finding, GPS positioning, and inertial measurement technologies. The LiDAR systems collect data point clouds that are used to produce highly detailed Digital Elevation Models (DEMs) of the earth's terrain, man-made structures, and vegetation. The LiDAR data acquisition and processing for Burke, Lincoln, and Richmond County was performed in the Winter of 2011. The LiDAR data was provided to NOAA CSC, as part of the 4 GA Counties of Elevation Data task order. The 4 GA Counties of Elevation Data task order AOI encompassed approximately 1,739 square miles. The area of interest acquired and processed for Burke, Lincoln, and Richmond County is approximately 1,386 square miles. The task order required the LiDAR data to be collected at a nominal pulse spacing (NPS) of 1.0 meter. The LiDAR data was collected to meet Fundamental Vertical Accuracy (FVA) Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) of 18.0 cm or better at a 95% confidence level, so that when combined with breaklines, the data adequately supports the generation of two (2) foot FEMA compliant contours. The final LiDAR data was delivered in 5,000' x 5,000' tiles using North American Datum 1983, Georgia State Plane Coordinate System, East Zone, and expressed in US Survey Feet. For data storage and Digital Coast provisioning purposes, the NOAA CSC converted the data to geographic coordinates and ellipsoid heights in meters. Special Note: Temporal changes of water levels will be observed in any data from Richmond and Lincoln counties overlapping any previously delivered data from Columbia County. The final products include full classified LAS, hydrologically flattened four (4) foot pixel raster DEM's of the bare earth surface in ESRI Floating Point Grid Format (ArcGRID DEMs), and hydrologically flattened breaklines. The data were collected on the following dates: Burke and Richmond Counties: December 13, 14, 17, 2011 Columbia County February 26, 2011 Lincoln County December 18, 2011 The data contains las points with the following classifications: Class 0 No Classification Class 2 Ground Class 7 Low Point (Noise) Class 9 Water Class 10 Land below sea level Class 12 Overlap

High-resolution measurements of waves, currents, water levels, temperature, salinity and turbidity were made in Hanalei Bay, Kauai, Hawaii during the summer of 2006. A series of bottom-mounted instrument packages were deployed in water depths of 10 m or less. These data support the ongoing process studies being conducted as part of the US Geological Survey Coastal and Marine Geology Program's Pacific Coral Project. Finalized data were provided in ASCII format for the waves, currents, and water levels. Other variables are summarized in graphics and described in a technical report.

The National Water Level Observation Network (NWLON) is a network of long-term water level stations operated and maintained by CO-OPS. NWLON stations are located on shore-based platforms, and primarily collect real-time water level measurements. As of January 2013, approximately 180 of 210 NWLON stations also collect real-time meteorological data. About 20 CO-OPS Physical Oceanographic Real-Time Systems (PORTS) comprise a group of water level stations, and 65 of these stations also collect real-time meteorological data. Data parameters include barometric pressure, wind direction, speed and gust, air temperature, and water temperature.

This digital elevation model (DEM) is a part of a series of DEMs produced for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Office for Coastal Management's Sea Level Rise and Coastal Flooding Impacts Viewer. The DEMs created for this project were developed using the NOAA National Weather Service's Weather Forecast Office (WFO) boundaries. Because the WFO boundaries can cover large areas, the WFO DEM was divided into smaller DEMs to ensure more manageable file sizes. The Melbourne (FL) WFO DEM was split into two smaller DEMs. They are divided along county lines and are: 1. Melbourne (FL) WFO - Brevard and Volusia Counties 2. Melbourne (FL) WFO - Indian River, St. Lucie, and Martin Counties This metadata record describes the DEM for Miami (FL) WFO - Brevard and Volusia Counties. The DEM includes the best available lidar data known to exist at the time of DEM creation for the coastal areas of Brevard and Volusia counties, that met project specifications. The DEM is derived from LiDAR datasets collected for the Florida Department of Emergency Management (FDEM) and Volusia County. LiDAR data for Brevard county was collected in 2007. Lidar data was collected in 2006 for Volusia County. Hydrographic breaklines used in the creation of the DEM were obtained from FDEM and Volusia County. The DEMs are hydro flattened such that water elevations are less than or equal to 0 meters. The DEM is referenced vertically to the North American Vertical Datum of 1988 (NAVD88) with vertical units of meters and horizontally to the North American Datum of 1983 (NAD83). The resolution of the DEM is approximately 5 meters.

MBT data were collected from the USS PLUCK in support of the Fleet Observations of Oceanographic Data (FLOOD) project. Data were collected by US Navy; Ships of Opportunity from 01 August 1969 to 19 August 1969. The platform was equipped and staffed to observe weather and sea conditions. Data were processed by NODC to the NODC standard Universal Bathythermograph Output (UBT) format. Full format description is available from NODC at www.nodc.noaa.gov/General/NODC-Archive/bt.html. The UBT file format is used for temperature-depth profile data obtained using the mechanical bathythermograph (MBT) instrument. The maximum depth of MBT observations is approximately 285 m. Therefore, MBT data are useful only in studying the thermal structure of the upper layers of the ocean. Cruise information, date, position, and time are reported for each observation. The data record comprises pairs of temperature-depth values. Temperature data in this file are recorded at uniform 5 m depth intervals.
