Popis
One, 25-m line transect was surveyed at 50-cm intervals as part of the Rapid Ecological Assessment conducted at 3 sites at Gardner Pinnacles in the Northwestern Hawaiian Islands in September, 2004 from the NOAA vessel Hi'ialakai (HI04-01). Raw survey data included percent live coral cover. Following the line-interspect survey, a 6m-wide transect, placed along the previously laid 25-m line was examined for the prevalence of coral disease.

The Tropical Atmosphere Ocean (TAO) array of moored buoys spans the tropical Pacific. Moorings within the array measure surface meteorological and upper-ocean parameters. This NODC Accession contains full-resolution, delayed-mode data, which the National Buoy Data Center processed and submitted to NODC in netCDF-formatted files.

The Integrated Science Data Management (ISDM) office processes oceanographic profiles reported for the world oceans in near real-time from the Global Telecommunications System (GTS) for the Global Temperature and Salinity Profile Program (GTSPP). These data also support the activities of the Ship of Opportunity Programme Implementation Panel (SOOPIP) and the WOCE Upper Ocean Thermal Program WOCE UOT). The ISDM sends a copy of these data to the US NODC three times each week.

The World Ocean Atlas 1998 (WOA98 and WOA98F) consists of 7 CD-ROMs: 3 discs contain objectively analyzed fields of temperature, salinity, dissolved oxygen, derived oxygen variables (Apparent Oxygen Utilization and oxygen saturation), nutrients (phosphate, nitrate, silicate) and chlorophyll along with fields of various statistics and 4 discs contain Figures. The data on each WOA98 CD-ROM consists of statistics of observed (vertically interpolated) data (unanalyzed) for one-degree squares and five-degree squares at standard depth levels. The following statistics for each grid square are included: 1) number of observations, 2) mean, 3) standard deviation, 4)standard error of the mean. The objectively analyzed fields and associated statistics for temperature, salinity, oxygen, nutrients, and chlorophyll are on three CD-ROMs (WOA98) as shown below: WOA98-01 annual, seasonal, monthly fields for temperature and salinity; WOA98-02 annual, seasonal, monthly fields for oxygen and the derived variables Apparent Oxygen Utilization and % oxygen saturation; WOA98-03 annual and seasonal fields for phosphate, nitrate, silicate, and chlorophyll. There are four types of directories within each CD-ROM: masks, programs, utils, and variable data directories (variable data directories are identified by the variable name, e.g., temperature, salinity, etc.). README files are available on each CD-ROM in HTML, Word Perfect 8, and text formats. The World Ocean Atlas 1998 Figures (WOA98F) CD-ROM set consists of gif images of objectively analyzed fields of temperature, salinity, dissolved oxygen, derived oxygen variables (Apparent Oxygen Utilization (AOU) and oxygen saturation), nutrients (phosphate, nitrate, and silicate) and chlorophyll along with figures of various statistics for these variables. The images are on the discs as shown below: WOA98F-01 Temperature WOA98F-02 Salinity WOA98F-03 Oxygen WOA98F-04 Nutrients and Chlorophyll Each CD-ROM contains an HTML front-end for easy searching of the images with an Internet browser. Copies of the World Ocean Atlas 1998 Figures (WOA98F) CD-ROMs are currently available via the NODC Online Store at http://ols.nndc.noaa.gov/plolstore/plsql/olstore.prodspecific?prodnum=5514 Copies of the World Ocean Atlas 1998 (WOA98) CD-ROMs are currently unavailable.

Temperature profile data from XBT and BT casts in the North Atlantic Ocean through NOAA Ship RESEARCHER from 25 October 1979 to 06 November 1979 (NODC Accession 8100575)

Popis
Temperature profile data were collected using XBT and BT casts from the NOAA Ship RESEARCHER in the North Atlantic Ocean from 25 October 1979 to 06 November 1979. Data were collected by the Atlantic Oceanographic and Meteorological Laboratory (AOML) in Miami, Florida. Data were processed by NODC to the NODC standard Universal Bathythermograph Output (UBT) format. Full format description is available from NODC at www.nodc.noaa.gov/General/NODC-Archive/bt.html. The UBT file format is used for temperature-depth profile data obtained using expendable bathythermograph (XBT) instruments. Standard XBTs can obtain profiles at depths of about 450 or 760 m. With special instruments, measurements can be obtained to 1830 m. Cruise information, position, date, and time are reported for each observation. The data record comprises pairs of temperature-depth values. Unlike the MBT data file, in which temperature values are recorded at uniform 5m intervals, the XBT Data File contains temperature values at non-uniform depths. These depths are at a minimum number of points ("inflection points") required to record the temperature curve to an acceptable degree of accuracy. On output, however, the user may request temperature values either at inflection points or interpolated to uniform depth increments.
Sensitivity of Coastal Environments and Wildlife to Spilled Oil: Hudson River: T_MAMMAL (Terrestrial Mammal Polygons)

Shrnutí
Popis
This data set contains sensitive biological resource data for small terrestrial mammals (woodrats, myotis, muskrat, mink) for the Hudson River. Vector polygons in this data set represent terrestrial mammal distribution. Species-specific abundance, seasonality, status, life history, and source information are stored in relational data tables (described below) designed to be used in conjunction with this spatial data layer. This data set comprises a portion of the Environmental Sensitivity Index (ESI) data for the Hudson River. ESI data characterize the marine and coastal environments and wildlife by their sensitivity to spilled oil. The ESI data include information for three main components: shoreline habitats, sensitive biological resources, and human-use resources.
