Description

The Joint Airborne Lidar Bathymetry Technical Center of Expertise (JALBTCX) has performed a coastal survey along the Gulf of Mexico in 2011. The data types collected include bathymetry and topographic lidar point data, true color imagery and hyperspectral imagery. The collection effort follows the coastline and extends 500m inland and 1000m offshore or to laser extinction, whichever comes first. Topographic lidar is collected with 200% coverage, yielding a nominal 1m x 1m post-spacing. Where water conditions permit, the bathymetric lidar data will have a nominal post spacing of 4m x 4m. The true color imagery will have a pixel size approximately 35cm and the hyperspectral imagery will be provided in 1m pixels containing 36 bands between 375 - 1050 nm with 19 nm bandwidth. The final data is tied to horizontal positions, provided in decimal degrees of latitude and longitude, and are referenced to the North American Datum of 1983 (NAD83). Vertical positions are referenced to the NAD83 ellipsoid and provided in meters. The National Geodetic Survey's (NGS) GEOID03 model is used to transform the vertical positions from ellipsoid to orthometric heights referenced to the North American Vertical Datum of 1988 (NAVD88). The NGS VDATUM program is used to transform the vertical positions collected along the Great Lakes coasts from NAVD88 to the International Great Lakes Datum of 1985 (IGLD85).

The Federal Register is the official daily publication for rules, proposed rules, and notices of Federal agencies and organizations, as well as executive orders and other presidential documents. Published by the Office of the Federal Register (OFR), National Archives and Records Administration (NARA), it is updated daily and is available Monday through Friday, except Federal holidays. GPO's Federal Digital System (FDsys) contains Federal Register issues from 1994 to the present. The current XML data set is not yet an official format of the Federal Register. Only the PDF and Text versions have legal status as parts of the official online format of the Federal Register. The XML-structured files are derived from SGML-tagged data and printing codes, which may produce anomalies in display. In addition, the XML data does not yet include image files. Users who require a higher level of assurance may wish to consult the official version of the Federal Register on FDsys.gov. The FDsys data set includes digitally signed Federal Register PDF files, which may be relied upon as evidence in a court of law. The Organ Procurement Organizations and Organ Transplant Programs Locator tool is designed to help users find information about the Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network (OPTN) resources. This tool assists users in locating places to sign up to be an organ donor, organ transplantation services, organ procurement organization (OPO), or organ transplantation program (OTP). The user searches for an organ procurement or organ transplantation program in any geographic location by entering an address or state and county. The search results listing the organ procurement organizations (OPOs) or Organ Transplantation Programs (OTPs) are returned in groups of ten (numbered from one to ten) and are sorted by increasing distance away from the address location (state and county) previously entered. For each OPO/OTP returned in the list, the user is provided the OPO/OTP name, address, telephone number, website address (where available), link to driving directions (to and from each OPO/OTP) and a link to a map from the address (or county and state) entered.

Description

According to findings reported in Impact of Chronic Conditions on the Cost of Cancer Care for Medicaid Beneficiaries, published in Volume 2, Issue 4 of the Medicare and Medicaid Research Review, the average cost of care for cancer patients with four specific preexisting chronic conditions was significantly higher than for patients without any of these conditions. The study analyzed administrative data linked with cancer registry data to estimate cost of care for beneficiaries with cardiac disease, respiratory diseases, diabetes, and mental health disorders. The cost increases ranged from 4,385 dollars for cardiac disease to 11,009 dollars for mental health disorders. Medicaid cancer patients often have preexisting chronic conditions and these conditions are projected to increase in the future. The implementation of better care management processes for cancer patients with preexisting chronic conditions may be one way to reduce these costs.

Description

Since the early 1990s the Global Historical Climatology Network-Monthly (GHCN-M) dataset has been an internationally recognized source of data for the study of observed variability and change in land surface temperature. It provides monthly mean temperature data for 7280 stations from 226 countries and territories, ongoing monthly updates of more than 2000 stations to support monitoring of current and evolving climate conditions, and homogeneity adjustments to remove non-climatic influences that can bias the observed temperature record. The release of version 3 monthly mean temperature data in 2011 introduced a number of improvements and changes from the previous release that included consolidating "duplicate" series, updating records from recent decades, and the use of new approaches to homogenization and quality assurance. The next version of GHCN-Monthly is expected to be released in 2015. Version 4 will contain more than 30,000 stations with monthly mean temperature data and improved quality control and bias correction processes.

Description

This data set contains county-level estimates of nitrogen and phosphorus from fertilizer, for both farm and nonfarm uses, for the conterminous United States, for 1987 through 2006. State-level farm and nonfarm nitrogen and phosphorus were derived from the Association of American Plant Food Control Officials (AAPFCO) commercial fertilizer sales data. State estimates were then allocated to the county-level using fertilizer expenditure as county weights for farm fertilizer, and population density as county weights for nonfarm fertilizer.
