This series comprises District Inspectors' reports on schools, copies of which were kept by the Department of Public Instruction (after 1957 known as the Department of Education), and the schools: a copy of each Inspection Report was sent to the school and to the Department. Each pro - forma Inspection Report includes the school name, the school number, the class being assessed, the date of the inspection in full, and the total number of male and female students present. There is also an assessment of the school according to the following categories: 1. school administrative records; 2. school 'government ' or discipline; 3. organization, which includes sufficient accommodation, classification of pupils, teaching standard and experience; 5. proficiency and progress of pupils; 6. care of grounds; 7. school, games and physical exercise; 8. general conditions; and 9. general remarks. Education Regional Districts are: Brisbane South, Brisbane North, Brisbane West, Central Queensland, Darling Downs, Wide Bay, South West, North West and Northern [this includes the Islands of the Torres Strait].
