Description

These Protection Districts are defined by the Character Preservation (Barossa Valley) Act 2012 and Character Preservation (McLaren Vale) Act 2012. This legislation protects the districts' unique heritage, culture and integrity by maintaining and preserving their rural amenity, rural character and scenic vistas vital for tourism, and making sure that future development is well designed and supports rather than detracts from the dominant land uses.
