This data set contains ortho-rectified mosaic tiles, created as a product from the NOAA Integrated Ocean and Coastal Mapping (IOCM) initiative. The source imagery was acquired on 20120407. The images were acquired with an Applanix Digital Sensor System (DSS). The original images were acquired at a higher resolution than the final ortho-rectified mosaic.

EarthData International collected ADS-50 derived LiDAR over a portion of Hillsborough and Manatee Counties with a one meter post spacing. The period of collection was between 12 January and 20 January 2007. The collection was performed by EarthData Aviation, using a Leica ALS-50 LiDAR system, including an inertial measuring unit (IMU) and a dual frequency GPS receiver. This project required eleven lifts of flight lines be collected. The product generated consisted of LiDAR bare earth elevation models in LAS format. This data set is one component of a digital terrain model (DTM) for the Southwest Florida Water Management District's FY 2007 Hillsborough County - Watershed Management Plan Topographic Information Mapping (L762) and FY 2007 Little Manatee River Watershed Management Plan (L604), encompassing approximately 453 square miles in Hillsborough County and 82 square miles in Manatee County. The 2007 LiDAR data set is comprised of 3-D mass points delivered in the LAS file format based upon the District's 5,000' x 5,000' grid with 505 cells in the Hillsborough area with an additional 91 cells in the Little Manatee area. An additional 12 cells were added to the Hillsborough area. The other DTM component is 2-D and 3-D breakline features in the ESRI ArcGIS Personal Geodatabase format. The breaklines were collected using Aerial photography captured for the Southwest Florida Water Management District FY 2007 Digital Orthophoto (B089) Central District One-foot Orthophoto project. The stream breaklines were the corrected to the hillshade LiDAR data. Contours (2-foot) were generated from the DTM that meet the National Standard for Spatial Data Accuracy (NSSDA) for 2-foot contours (FEMA specifications). Bare earth LiDAR mass point data display a vertical accuracy of at least 0.3-feet root mean square (RMSE) in open and unobscured areas with standard reflective quality.

The NOAA Atlantic Real-Time Ocean Forecast System (RTOFS) dataset comprises output fields from the daily operational RTOFS model runs conducted at the National Centers for Atmospheric Prediction. Each model run produces a series of gridded fields containing results of model computations for ocean temperature, salinity, currents, sea-surface height, and possibly other properties. The fields are encoded in the standard GRIdded Binary (GRIB) file format. NODC compiles a series of files into monthly accessions to facilitate archival storage and public access. Two different sets of output fields are included: 1) daily 3-dimensional fields reported on the model's native hybrid (isopycnal plus z-level) vertical coordinates (note: prior to June 6, 2007, these fields are interpolated to z-levels); and 2) hourly fields reported for the surface level only. Each daily model run produces a 24-hr hindcast as well as forecasts out to 120 hours.

The purpose of the NE Pacific GLOBEC program is to develop a mechanistic understanding of the response of the marine eceosystem to climate variability. Toward this end the GLOBEC cruises on the Gulf of Alaska shelf will determine the physical- chemical structure, primary production and the distribution and abundance of zooplankton, yoy salmon and other planktivorous fish. These interdisciplinary cruises will occur over a seven-year period and throughout the year so that seasonal and interannual depictions of the oceanography of this shelf will be available. Some of the data will be compared with historical data sets whereas other data sets will be a product of the first systematic sampling effort from this shelf.

Physical, current, meteorological, and other data were collected from XBT casts, buoys, and other instruments from a World-Wide distribution. Data were collected from 21 September 2001 to 28 November 2001. Data were submitted by the Marine Environmental Data Service (MEDS) in support of the Array for Real-time Geostrophic Oceanography (Argo), the Gulf of Mexico NOAA/NMFS Ship of Opportunity (SOOP), the World Ocean Circulation Experiment (WOCE), and the Global Temperature-Salinity Pilot Project (GTSPP). Physical parameters include profiles of temperature and salinity. Current parameters include current direction and speed. Meteorological data include dry bulb temperature, wind speed, wind direction, relative humidity, and air pressure.

This dataset has 5-day Net Shortwave Radiation data from the TAO/TRITON (Pacific Ocean, http://www.pmel.noaa.gov/tao/), RAMA (Indian Ocean, http://www.pmel.noaa.gov/tao/rama/), and PIRATA (Atlantic Ocean, http://www.pmel.noaa.gov/pirata/) arrays of moored buoys which transmit oceanographic and meteorological data to shore in real-time via the Argos satellite system. These buoys are major components of the CLIVAR climate analysis project and the GOOS, GCOS, and GEOSS observing systems. 5-day data is an average of daily values collected during consecutive five day intervals. A minimum of 2 daily values are required to compute a 5-day average. This dataset contains realtime and delayed mode data (see the 'source' variable). This data set represents the sediment profile imaging data from 2004 (79 stations).In Fall/Winter 2002, researchers from the Virginia Institute of Marine Science (VIMS) and the NOAA Office for Coastal Management conducted a project to map benthic habitats by Catlett and Goodwin Islands on the York River, Chesapeake Bay, Virginia. Sediment grab samples were collected at 56 stations and sediment profile images were collected at 200 stations. Sampling areas were also surveyed using side scan sonar and interferometric swath bathymetry sensors. Scientists from the Virginia Institute of Marine Sciences returned to sample a subset of the 2002 sediment grab data in 2003 and then again in 2004. A subset of SPI stations (79) were revisited in 2004.

This lidar point data set was collected during low tide conditions along an approximately 500-700 meter wide strip of the Southern California coastline within an area extending south from Long Beach to the US/Mexico border. Data were collected in Los Angeles, Orange and San Diego counties from south of the Downtown Long Beach Marina in Long Beach, California to Leucadia on March 8, 2009 between 19:56 and 22:59 UTC. Data were collected in Orange and San Diego counties from south of Dana Point to north of La Jolla on March 9, 2009 between 21:27 and 23:48 UTC. Data were collected in San Diego County from south of Del Mar to south of the United States-Mexico border near Playas de Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico on March 10 between 21:32 and 22:32 UTC. Data set features include water, beach, cliffs, and top of cliffs. The all points data set contains the complete point cloud of first and last return elevation and laser intensity measurements recorded during the spring 2009 airborne lidar survey conducted semi-annually by the University of Texas at Austin for the Southern California Beach Processes Study. The data set was generated by the processing of laser range, scan angle, and aircraft attitude data collected using an Optech Inc. Airborne Laser Terrain Mapper (ALTM) 1225 system and geodetic quality Global Positioning System (GPS) airborne and ground-based receivers. Current meter components data were collected from FIXED PLATFORMS in the Mediterranean Sea from 17 October 1985 to 01 October 1986. Data were collected by Oregon State University (OSU). Data were processed by NODC to the NODC standard F015 Current Meter Components format. Full format description is available from NODC at www.nodc.noaa.gov/General/NODC-Archive/f015.html. The F015 format contains time series measurements of ocean currents. These data are obtained from current meter moorings and represent the Eulerian method of current measurement, i.e., the meters are deployed at a fixed point and measure flow past a sensor. Position, bottom depth, sensor depth and meter characteristics are reported for each station. The data record includes values of east-west (u) and north-south (v) current vector components at specified date and time. Current direction is defined as the direction toward which the water is flowing with positive directions east and north. Data values may be subject to averaging or filtering and are typically reported at 10 - 15 minute time intervals. Water temperature, pressure and conductivity or salinity may also be reported.
