Popis

This data set consists of land derived from high resolution imagery and was analyzed according to the Coastal Change Analysis Program (C-CAP) protocol to determine land cover. This data set utilized 24 full or partial 2010 WorldView2 multispectral scenes and the 2003 high-resolution Tutuila, American Samoa C-CAP data set. The imagery and base classification were included in a multi-step change detection process to extract land cover features in the 2010 imagery.

Popis

Oceanographic station data were collected from the WACHUSETT within a 1-mile radius of Ocean Weather Station N (3000N 14000W) and in transit. Data were collected by the United States Coast Guard (USCG) from 10 November 1969 to 01 December 1969. Data were processed by NODC to the NODC standard Station Data II Output Format (SD2). Full format description is available from NODC at www.nodc.noaa.gov/General/NODC-Archive/sd2.html. The SD2 format contains physical-chemical oceanographic data recorded at discrete depth levels. Most of the observations were made using multi-bottle Nansen casts or other types of water samplers. A small amount (about 5 percent) were obtained using electronic CTD (conductivity-temperature-depth) or STD (salinity-temperature-depth) recorders. The CTD/STD data were reported to NODC at depth levels equivalent to Nansen cast data, however, and have been processed and stored the same as the Nansen data. Cruise information (e.g., ship, country, institution), position, date, and time, and reported for each station. The principal measured parameters and temperature and salinity , but dissolved oxygen, phosphate, total phosphorus, silicate, nitrate, nitrite, and pH may be reported. Meteorological conditions at the time of the cast (e.g., air temperature and pressure, wind, waves) may also be reported, as well as auxiliary data such as water color (Forel-Ule scale), water transparency (Secchi disk depth), and depth to bottom. Values of density (sigma-t) sound velocity, and dynamic depth anomaly are computed from measured parameters. Each station contains the measurements taken at the observed depth levels, but also includes data values interpolated to a set of standard depth levels.

Multibeam backscatter imagery extracted from gridded bathymetry of Swains Island, American Samoa. These data provide coverage between 50 and 5000 meters. The backscatter dataset includes data collected using the Simrad EM300 multibeam sonar. The sonars frequency is 30 kHz. These metadata are for the 5 m grid cell size Simrad em300 multibeam backscatter data only.

Collect and deliver high-density elevation point data derived from multiple-return light detection and ranging (LiDAR) measurements for use in supporting topographic analysis, including applications such as flood plain mapping. The Nominal Point Spacing Value for the final lidar is 3.2 ft (~1 m). Deliver LiDAR Bare Earth and Contour lines within the areas designated in areas of Clay, Itawamba, Monroe, and Lowndes Counties to aid in visual interpretation of Flood Basin elevations and for addition to the MDEM elevation dataset. Comply with mapping guidelines and specifications as stated in the FEMA Procedure Memorandum No. 61

Popis

BPI Zones are derived from a focal mean analysis on bathymetry and slope. The grid is based on gridded (10 m cell size) multibeam bathymetry, collected aboard NOAA Ship Hi'ialakai and R/V AHI, and it was created using the Benthic Terrain Modeler (http://www.csc.noaa.gov/products/btm/). Cell values represent one of 4 classes (crest, depression, flat, slope) in an index of seafloor terrains. This data set is for the shelf and slope environments of Farallon de Pajaros Island.

Popis

Bathythermograph data were collected from the GALLATIN within a 1-mile radius of Ocean Weather Station D (4400N 04100W), E (3500N 04800W), and in transit. Data were collected by the United States Coast Guard from 16 January 1970 to 15 February 1970. The platform was equipped and staffed to observe weather and sea conditions. Data were processed by NODC to the NODC standard Universal Bathythermograph Output (UBT) format. Full format description is available from NODC at www.nodc.noaa.gov/General/NODC-Archive/bt.html. The UBT file format is used for temperature-depth profile data obtained using the mechanical bathythermograph (MBT) instrument. The maximum depth of MBT observations is approximately 285 m. Therefore, MBT data are useful only in studying the thermal structure of the upper layers of the ocean. Cruise information, date, position, and time are reported for each observation. The data record comprises pairs of temperature-depth values. Temperature data in this file are recorded at uniform 5 m depth intervals.

Gridded bathymetry shelf, bank and slope environments of Maug Island(s), CNMI. Bottom coverage was achieved in depths between 4 and 3275 meters. This 10-m grid also contains data to only 800 meter depth. The netCDF and Arc ASCII grids include multibeam bathymetry from the Simrad EM300 and Reson 8101 multibeam sonars collected as of June 2007 by the NOAA Coral Reef Ecosystem Division. The sonar frequencies are 30 and 240 kHz respectively.

NODC Accession 0113604 includes chemical, discrete sample, physical and profile data collected from TYRO in the North Atlantic Ocean from 1989-07-31 to 1989-09-11 and retrieved during cruise CARINA/64TR19890731. These data include ALKALINITY, AMMONIUM, DISSOLVED INORGANIC CARBON, DISSOLVED OXYGEN, HYDROSTATIC PRESSURE, NITRATE, NITRITE, PHOSPHATE, Potential temperature (theta), SALINITY, SILICATE and WATER TEMPERATURE. The instruments used to collect these data include CTD and bottle. These data were collected by M. Stoll of Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization and Hein J.W. de Baar of Royal Netherlands Institute for Sea Research as part of the CARINA/64TR19890731 data set. The CARINA (CARbon dioxide IN the Atlantic Ocean) data synthesis project is an international collaborative effort of the EU IP CARBOOCEAN, and U.S. partners. It has produced a merged internally consistent data set of open ocean subsurface measurements for biogeochemical investigations, in particular, studies involving the carbon system. The original focus area was the North Atlantic Ocean, but over time the geographic extent expanded and CARINA now includes data from the entire Atlantic, the Arctic Ocean, and the Southern Ocean.

This data set contains color (RGB) ortho-rectified mosaic tiles, created as a product from the NOAA Integrated Ocean and Coastal Mapping (IOCM) initiative. The source imagery was acquired from 20100806 - 20100930. The images were acquired with an Applanix Digital Sensor System (DSS). Ortho-rectified mosaic tiles are an ancillary product of NOAA's Coastal Mapping Program (CMP), created through a wider Integrated Ocean and Coastal Mapping initiative to increase support for multiple uses of the data. The ground sample distance (GSD) for each pixel is 0.50 m. These data are Geotiff (.tif) files with associated Federal Geographic Data Committee (FGDC) metadata.
