This data set contains ortho-rectified mosaic tiles, created as a product from the NOAA Integrated Ocean and Coastal Mapping (IOCM) initiative. The source imagery was acquired on 20130428. The images were acquired with an Applanix Digital Sensor System (DSS). The original images were acquired at a higher resolution than the final ortho-rectified mosaic.

NODC Accession 0115902 contains raw underway meteorological, navigational, physical, profile and time series data logged by the Scientific Computer System (SCS) aboard the NOAA Ship Henry B. Bigelow in the North Atlantic Ocean from 2013-07-01 to 2013-08-18. Office of Marine and Aviation Operations (OMAO) personnel aboard the ship submitted these data and associated metadata to NODC. In addition, NODC Accession 0115902 contains supplementary cruise-level metadata, which OMAO personnel logged in the Ship Daily Activity Log (SDAL). OMAO and NODC personnel developed the automated process to archive these data under the auspices of the NOAA Rolling Deck to Repository (NOAA R2R) program.

Twelve quadrats were sampled along 2 consecutively-placed, 25m transect lines, as part of Rapid Ecological Assessments, conducted at 1 sites at Aguijan in the Marianas Archipelago from 12 - 22 May 2007, aboard the NOAA ship Hi'ialakai, during the Reef Assessment and Monitoring Program (RAMP) Cruise HI0702. Raw survey data included genus presence and relative abundance, and voucher specimens. Detailed taxonomic analyses of voucher specimens are presented.
Temperature profiles from mechanical bathythermograph (MBT) casts from the USS WARBLER in the South China Sea in support of the Fleet Observations of Oceanographic Data (FLOOD) project from 23 February 1966 to 26 February 1966 (NODC Accession 6600597)

MBT data were collected from the USS WARBLER in support of the Fleet Observations of Oceanographic Data (FLOOD) project. Data were collected in the South China Sea by US Navy; Ships of Opportunity from 23 February 1966 to 26 February 1966. The platform was equipped and staffed to observe weather and sea conditions. Data were processed by NODC to the NODC standard Universal Bathythermograph Output (UBT) format. Full format description is available from NODC at www.nodc.noaa.gov/General/NODC-Archive/bt.html. The UBT file format is used for temperature-depth profile data obtained using the mechanical bathythermograph (MBT) instrument. The maximum depth of MBT observations is approximately 285 m. Therefore, MBT data are useful only in studying the thermal structure of the upper layers of the ocean. Cruise information, date, position, and time are reported for each observation. The data record comprises pairs of temperature-depth values. Temperature data in this file are recorded at uniform 5 m depth intervals.

Marine Mammal Sighting and Census data were collected from Coastal Alaska. Data were collected by Alaska Department of Fish and Game from 05 May 1985 to 13 June 1985. Data were processed by NODC to the NODC standard F127 Marine Mammal Sighting and Census format. Full format description is available from NODC at www.nodc.noaa.gov/General/NODC-Archive/f127.html. This file format is used for data from field observations of marine animals. Data may be reported either for individual, random sightings or for sightings made as part of systematic ship or aircraft surveys along specified tracks. These data provide information on animal population densities and distributions, activities, migratory routes and breeding locales. Cruise or survey information, start and end positions, start and end times, and platform speed, direction, and altitude are reported for each observation or series of observations. Position, date and time are reported for each sighting location, along with a code indicating presence or absence of animals and, if present, their distance to the observer, shoreline, and ice edge and heading direction. For each sighting location, animal sighting data are reported by species for all observed species. Species identification, total number of individuals, and counts by age group (adults, subadults, juveniles, unknown) may be reported in summary for all animals sighted or by subgroups distinguished by sex, behavior, markings, or other characteristics. A text record is available for comments.

NODC Accession 0101503 includes profile, discretely sampled and biological data collected aboard the ALBATROSS IV, ENDEAVOR and OCEANUS during cruises AL9505, AL9506, AL9508, AL9605, AL9607, EN261, EN263, EN265, EN276, EN278, EN282 and OC275 in the North Atlantic Ocean from 1995-02-11 to 1996-06-12. These data include CHLOROPHYLL A. The instruments used to collect these data include bottle. These data were collected by David Mountain and Maureen Taylor of National Marine Fisheries Service as part of GB. The Biological and Chemical Oceanography Data Management Office (BCO-DMO) submitted these data to NODC on 2013-01-18. The following is the text of the abstract provided by BCO-DMO: Raw Extracted Chlorophyll Data from Broadscale CTD stations, 1995 and 1996. PI NOTES: The 1995 and 1996 bottle data were collected with a GO rosette mounted above the MK5 CTD. Water for chlorophyll extractions was taken at priority 1 and 2 stations and at 3 "standard" depths (according to a protocal set up by Ted Durbin and Dian Gifford at the University of Rhode Island). For each bottle, 3 replicate samples were run for consistency. 50 mls were filtered for 3 size fractions: total chlorophyll, chlorophyll from water filtered through a s Lab read them when the ship returned. The companion object for this data is chloro_bot_chem, which details salinity, temperature, fluorometry and tranmissometry collected from the same bottles.
