This data set consists of six-inch pixel resolution, natural color orthoimages covering the urban area footprint. An orthoimage is remotely sensed image data in which displacement of features in the image caused by terrain relief and sensor orientation have been mathematically removed. Orthoimagery combines the image characteristics of a photograph with the geometric qualities of a map. Each orthoimage provides imagery over a 5000-foot by 5000-foot block on the ground. There is no image overlap between adjacent files. The projected coordinate system is Georgia State Plane West (FIPS 1002) feet with a NAD83 datum.

Physical, current, meteorological, and other data were collected from XBT casts, buoys, and other instruments from a World-Wide distribution. Data were collected from 25 November 2000 to 30 April 2001. Data were submitted by the Marine Environmental Data Service (MEDS) in support of the Array for Real-time Geostrophic Oceanography (Argo), the Gulf of Mexico NOAA/NMFS Ship of Opportunity (SOOP), the World Ocean Circulation Experiment (WOCE), and the Global Temperature-Salinity Pilot Project (GTSPP). Physical parameters include profiles of temperature and salinity. Current parameters include current direction and speed. Meteorological data include dry bulb temperature, wind speed, wind direction, relative humidity, and air pressure.

Current meter data were collected using moored current meter casts in the Puget Sound from August 2, 1979 to April 9, 1980. Data were submitted by Pacific Marine Environmental Laboratory (PMEL) as part of the Long-Range Effects Program Puget Sound project. Data were processed by NODC to the NODC standard Current Meter Data (F015) format. Full current meter moorings descriptions are available at http://www.nodc.noaa.gov/General/NODC-Archive/f015.html. The F015 format is used for time series measurements of ocean currents. These data are obtained from current meter moorings and represent Eulerian method of current measurement, i.e., the meters are deployed at a fixed point and measure flow past a sensor. Position, bottom depth, sensor depth, and meter characteristics are reported for each station. The data record comprises values of east-west (u) and north-south (v) current vector components at specified date and time. Current direction is defined as the direction toward which the water is flowing with positive directions east and north and negative directions west and south. Data values may be subject to averaging or filtering and are typically reported at 10-15 minute time intervals. Water temperature, pressure, and conductivity or salinity may also be reported. A text record is available for optional comments.

This dataset contains a unified GeoTiff with 30x30 meter cell size representing the backscatter intensity of the Charleston Bump off of the South Atlantic Bight, derived from data collected in 2007. NOAA's NOS/NCCOS/CCMA Biogeography Branch, in collaboration with the College of Charleston, as well as the NOAA Ship Thomas Jefferson , and private sector partners, acquired multibeam bathymetry data off the Charleston Bump to identify habitats for deep water coral ecosystems from 05/23/2007 to 05/28/2007. Data was acquired with a hull-mounted Kongsberg Simrad EM 1002 multibeam echosounder (95 kHz). It was processed by the College of Charleston Department of Geology using CARIS HIPS software. Data has all correctors applied (attitude, sound velocity) and has been reduced to mean lower low water (MLLW) using final approved tides and zoning from NOAA COOPS. Data is in UTM Zone 17 north, datum NAD83. The processed CARIS data was used to generate a CARIS BASE surface based on swath angle. The CARIS Export option "BASE Surface to Image" was then used to create a GeoTiff of the priority areas. The backscatter component of the bathymetry data were geometrically and radiometrically corrected using Fledermaus FMGT software. Acoustic backscatter mosaics are ostensibly an important piece of information when characterizing surficial seafloor features and delineating benthic habitats.

Gridded (40 m cell size) bathymetry of the shelf and slope environments of Baker Island, Pacific Remote Island Areas, Central Pacific. Almost complete bottom coverage was achieved in depths between 8 and 4700 meters. The bathymetry dataset includes Simrad EM300, EM3002D, and Reson 8101ER multibeam data collected on Jan. 30, 2006.

NOAA OceanWatch provides sea surface temperature (SST) products derived from microwave sensors, which can measure ocean temperatures even in the presence of clouds. This data is provided at moderate spatial resolution (0.025 degrees) for the Global Ocean. Measurements are gathered by Japan's Advanced Microwave Scanning Radiometer (AMSR-E) instrument, a passive radiance sensor carried aboard NASA's Aqua spacecraft.

This dataset has measurements of the size of selected animal species at selected locations in the Channel Islands National Park. Sampling is conducted annually between the months of May-October, so the Time data in this file is July 1 of each year (a nominal value). The size frequency measurements were taken within 10 meters of the transect line at each site. Depths at the site vary some, but we describe the depth of the site along the transect line where that station's temperature logger is located, a typical depth for the site.

The Makah Tribe plans to build traditional Makah halibut hooks (cibuds) out of metal to determine if the traditional design is more selective for the size of halibut it catches, and if it reduces the bycatch of other fish species (e.g., rockfish) compared to contemporary fished circle hooks. The first step will be to select the design of the cibud by examining cibuds in the holdings of the Makah Museum. The second step is to construct metal cibuds using either 1/4 inch brass or stainless steel; in total, 170 metal cibuds will be constructed. Then longline snap gear will be designed to mimic the fishing behavior of traditional cibuds. The longline gear will be deployed with alternating snap gear and contemporary circle hooks in the spring of 2013. On each set, all fish on each hook type will be counted, measured, and identified. Statistical analysis will be done to determine if there are differences in the mean number of rockfish caught per set, and to determine if the cibuds have a different size distribution of catch than contemporary circle hooks. Data collected from trials using traditional halibut hooks (chibuds).

This data set contains ortho-rectified mosaic tiles, created as a product from the NOAA Integrated Ocean and Coastal Mapping (IOCM) initiative. The source imagery was acquired from 20120610 - 20120630 with an Applanix Digital Sensor System (DSS). The original images were acquired at a higher resolution to support the final ortho-rectified mosaic.

This dataset has daily 20C Isotherm Depth data (the depth at which the ocean temperature is 20C) from the TAO/TRITON (Pacific Ocean, http://www.pmel.noaa.gov/tao/), RAMA (Indian Ocean, http://www.pmel.noaa.gov/tao/rama/), and PIRATA (Atlantic Ocean, http://www.pmel.noaa.gov/pirata/) arrays of moored buoys which transmit oceanographic and meteorological data to shore in real-time via the Argos satellite system. These buoys are major components of the CLIVAR climate analysis project and the GOOS, GCOS, and GEOSS observing systems.
