Description

This coverage contains estimates of nitrogen-fertilizer sales for the conterminous United States in 1987 as reported by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (1990) and by Jerald Fletcher (West Virginia University, written commun., 1992). Nitrogen-fertilizer sales estimates in this coverage are reported for each county polygon in tons of actual nutrient sold (inorganic nitrogen, phosphate, and potash) as distinct from total tons of fertilizer product. The data are summarized for fertilizer years (i.e. the 1987 fertilizer year runs from July 1, 1986 to June 30, 1987). The polygons representing county boundaries in the conterminous United States, as well as lakes, estuaries, and other nonland-area features were derived from the Digital Line Graph (DLG) file representing the 1:2,000,000-scale map in the National Atlas of the United States (1970). Description

The Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) was created by the OECD member countries in 1997 to produce direct assessments of student performance, on a regular basis in an efficient, timely and cost-effective manner; and to provide more relevant and powerful indicators of human capital. PISA produces assessments of reading literacy, mathematical literacy, scientific literacy and a growing range of cross-curricular competencies among 15-year-olds in school. The dataset contains the anonymized records from the over 450,000 students in 65 countries who were sampled and took the PISA assessments. The records include background information about the students as well as their motivations and learning styles. Background information on the schools attended by the students including school level policies and practices is included in the dataset.

Description

The floats are designed to drift at a fixed pressure (usually 1000 dbar) for 10 days. After this period, the floats move to a profiling pressure (usually between 1000 and 2000 dbar) then rise, collecting profiles of pressure, temperature, and salinity data on their way to the surface. Once at the surface, the floats remain there for under a day, transmitting the data collected by satellite back to NOAA/PMEL and allowing the satellite to determine their surface drift. They then sink again and repeat their mission. The floats have a nominal lifetime of five years, and will yield valuable information about large-scale ocean water property distributions and currents, including their variability over time scales from seasonal to the duration of the array. Note that a given request will return a maximum of 15000 rows of data. So if you get a response with ~15000 rows, resubmit the request as 2 or more smaller requests.

The VICP website has 3 Tables. The first Table is the "Statistics Report," which details by fiscal year the number of petitions filed, the number of adjudications (Court judgments), and the number and amounts of compensation awards. The second Table is the "Claims Filed and Dismissed by Vaccine," which details the number and status of claims by vaccine type. The third Table is the "Adjudication Categories by Vaccine," which details the number of concessions by HRSA, the number of Court Decisions, and the number of settlements for compensated claims, along with the number of dismissals, all by vaccine type. This Table additionally provides CDC-supplied data on the number of doses distributed in the U.S. by vaccine type.

This is a federally mandated logbook program for harvesting precious coral, and it is required to be mailed in to PIFSC after a fishing trip. Data is from 1999-200. This logbook may be being replaced in 2012 by the Western Pacific Precious Coral Daily Harvest Log. Catch and effort data are collected by species. Species covered are commercial species of black coral and all commercial deepwater species of precious coral (pink, gold, bamboo). There is also a section for recording Protected Species interactions. Geographic area for the data - all jurisdictions where permit is valid. Start and end years for the data collected - ask Nate for first year data collected. Data collection is ongoing as long as there are permits out there.

Accounting for Unobservable Exposure Time Bias When Using Medicare Prescription Drug Data Unobservable exposure time is common among Medicare Part D beneficiaries, and they are often in worse health. To retain patients with unobservable exposure time, we recommend stratifying patients on receipt of post-acute facility-based care, calculating and using observable days as a covariate and, when appropriate, using the discharge date from contiguous post-acute facility care for beginning the exposure assessment period.

Terrain data, as defined in FEMA Guidelines and Specifications, Appendix M: Data Capture Standards, describes the digital topographic data that was used to create the elevation data representing the terrain environment of a watershed and/or floodplain. Terrain data requirements allow for flexibility in the types of information provided as sources used to produce final terrain deliverables. Once this type of data is provided, FEMA will be able to account for the origins of the flood study elevation data. (Source: FEMA Guidelines and Specifications, Appendix M, Section N.1.2).

Social vulnerability refers to the resilience of communities when confronted by external stresses on human health, stresses such as natural or human-caused disasters, or disease outbreaks. Reducing social vulnerability can decrease both human suffering and economic loss. ATSDR's Social Vulnerability Index uses U.S. census variables at tract level to help local officials identify communities that may need support in preparing for hazards, or recovering from disaster.

Description

The Digital Flood Insurance Rate Map (DFIRM) Database depicts flood risk information and supporting data used to develop the risk data. The primary risk classifications used are the 1-percent-annual-chance flood event, the 0.2-percent-annual- chance flood event, and areas of minimal flood risk. The DFIRM Database is derived from Flood Insurance Studies (FISs), previously published Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRMs), flood hazard analyses performed in support of the FISs and FIRMs, and new mapping data, where available. The FISs and FIRMs are published by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). The file is georeferenced to earth's surface using the New Mexico West (FIPS 3003) State Plane projection and coordinate system. The specifications for the horizontal control of DFIRM data files are consistent with those required for mapping at a scale of 1:12,000.

Description

EarthData International collected ADS-40/ISTAR-derived orthophotography over Hillsborough, Pinellas, Manatee and Sarasota Counties Florida with a 1 foot pixel resolution. The period of collection was between 9 January and 20 January 2007 for the base area with the agricultural area bring flown between 17 February and 19 February 2007. The collection was performed EarthData Aviation, using a Leica ADS-40 camera system, including an inertial measuring unit (IMU) and a dual frequency GPS receiver. This project required eight lifts of flight lines to be collected, for a total of 80 flight lines. The orthophotos were rectified using the existing lidar DEM from Pinellas County and a collected DEM from Hillsborough County and was processed using ISTAR. Ground survey services in support of the project were provided by a Florida-registered professional land surveyor under the employment of Terrasurv Inc. of PA. The GeoTIFF format was compressed to MrSid format for distribution or is stored in ArcSDE for District use.
