Fiscal Management Information System (FMIS) 5.0

Description

This investment involves modernization of the legacy FMIS application (FHWAX030: Fiscal Management Information System (FMIS 4.0)). FMIS 5.0 will be the primary financial information system for allocating and tracking an annual $40 billion in federally funded highway projects. It tracks authorizations, obligations, apportionments, allocations, and limitation information. It is used to plan and execute FHWA program activities, and to evaluate financial requirements for current and future funding.
